Yuka Kitamura is best known for her works on ‘Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Dark Souls III’ and ‘Bloodborne’. She is the lead composer at FromSoftware, a Japanese video game development company in Tokyo, Japan.

She is a highly talented games composer. And has been working closely with BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc., Sony Interactive Entertainment and Inc., and a few other companies.

Kitamura started as a music composer in 2013 with works such as “Armored Core: Verdict Day” before the other ones followed. Even though her works are quite popular, she is hardly known in person.

Yuka Kitamura confirmed to a fan on Twitter when she replied to a post. Her fans were hoping she would work on Elden Ring, a new video game and the latest project by FromSoftware.

Elden ring is an action role-playing game. It is a collaborative effort between Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R.R. Martin.

Her fans were on the watch for her impeccable magic behind the scenes. The date for the release of Elden Ring yet to be announced. But, currently, there are speculations that would be released on 21st January 2022.

Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One are billed to release the action-packed video game.

5. She Prefers To Live A Low-Key Life

Yuka Kitamura seems to live on a low-key. That is why she is hardly known despite her creativity and talent.

However, it is different in the social media space particularly Twitter. She is gradually gaining recognition because of her work. Video game lovers are all over her page waiting for whatever new she has in store for them.

When composing a soundtrack, Yuka Kitamura revealed she likes to use DST instruments. And also Japanese larger drums and instruments especially when the game has a Japanese setting.

She uses other instruments such as the violin and also the cello, which she plays herself. What a genius she is, playing multiple musical instruments.

Her work on Dark Soul had guest contributors such as Motoi Sakuraba, Tsukasa Saitoh, and Nobuyoshi Suzuki. She had previously worked with them on a couple of projects. The soundtrack used in Bloodbourne places a strong emphasis on haunting choral work with ensemble performances from the Tokyo philharmonic.

The ‘Dark Souls III’ soundtrack was released with the limited edition of the game. Unlike the previous part which much criticized because the music is highly incomplete with many tracks shortened or omitted.

Yuka Kitamura has also worked as an arranger and performer in 2013’s Sunrise. She has also featured on the 2016 VGM Acapella: Volume 8. And also the 2017 Smooth Mcgroove remixed Volume II.
