At the age of four, Anne made her acting debut as Annie in the Academy Award-nominated live-action short T is for Tumbleweed. According to reports, she usually accompanied her mother to the Lassie set, where between 1959 and 1962, she made five uncredited appearances.
Moreover, Anne has a long history of performing in commercials and voiceover roles in addition to her roles in television and motion pictures. She started collaborating with Lane Davies in 1997 to create the Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival. As earlier stated, June Lockhart is a famous actress who made her career debut in 1933. When she was eight years old, she had her stage debut and at the age of 12, she made her film debut in the 1938 version of A Christmas Carol, in which both of her parents also starred.
Considering her current age (99 years) and the length of time she has been active on the screens, one would have imagined that she is done with anything showzib. But no. Up till the 2000s, she has continued to clinch diverse screen roles. Some of her recent appearances in movies and TV shows are in Bongee Bear and the Kingdom of Rhyth (2019), Holiday in Handcuffs (2007), and the Netflix series Lost in Space (2021).
She has been nominated for several award categories for her outstanding performance
For her performance on Broadway in For Love or Money, Lockhart won a Special Tony Award for Outstanding Performance by a Newcomer in 1948. In order to be displayed in the Smithsonian Institution’s permanent entertainment archives, June presented her Tony Award to the organization in 2008.
In addition to her Emmy nominations, Lockhart was also recognized in 1959 for her work in Lassie with a nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Continuing Character) in a Dramatic Series.
So far, the 99-year-old has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one for television and one for motion movies.
Apart from her screen recognitions, June also received the Exceptional Public Achievement Medal from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in 2013 for promoting space exploration. According to reports, she has always been fascinated with space studies and she spends a lot of time down at NASA making appearances at dinners and conventions with astronauts and their wives.
Furthermore, June is recognized for hosting the 1966 Miss Universe pageant at the Jackie Gleason Studio in North Miami Beach.
