Beau Dermott is a young British singer who blew the world away in 2016 with her amazing musical talent when she appeared in the British Got Talent. Beau Dermott was born on October 28, 2003, in Liverpool. She was brought up by her parents Ian Dermott and Karen Dermott, both of whom have been very supportive of their daughter.
She attended Hammond School in Chester where she was a music student. It was while she was still there that she went for the BGT contest. In 2015, Beau opened The Hammond’s Annual Carol Concert in Chester Cathedral with ‘Once in Royal David’s City’.
Her older brother’s name is Ben, but there is not so much that is known about him.

1. She Went For Britains Got Talent With Her Family
Beau Dermott, the beautiful 12-year-old who was part of the contestants for the show and wowed judges and the audience with her performances took along with her, her dad, mum, and brother. The girl with the angelic voice was quite shy and most likely needed her whole family to be there with her to give the necessary support.
2. She Lost Her Father To Cancer
On the 12th of February 2018, the young talented singer lost her dad to cancer. He was diagnosed to have had the disease in 2016. According to him at the time, he knew he had the disease when Beau and her mum flew for the semi-finals of the contest but did not tell them so as not to take the attention from his daughter and the competition.
Beau would go on to organize a number of charity events in order to help her ailing father. Unfortunately, after a well-fought battle, Ian Dermott lost his life to the disease.

The strong performance of Beau during the competition has got some talk that the teenager cheated. This idea came after it was discovered that she had participated in some competitions in the past and won and she has been having music lessons.
It was claimed that for four years before the competition, she has been taking singing lessons once a month with StagePro Academy in Warrington. More so, she has also won some singing competitions before appearing in British Got Talent.
Although Amanda Holden was not aware of these before giving the 12-year-old the Golden Buzzer that took her to the semi-finals, the idea that Dermott got music lessons did not take anything from the fact that she is talented. The talent competitions that she won, Halton’s Got Talent and Warrington’s Got Talent are not country-wide competitions, and so all these cannot be considered as cheating.
