If you are not a great fan of K pop music and industry, the chance that you would know Daichi is very slim, but irrespective of whether you do know him or not, here are 10 facts you probably didn’t know about him:

1. He bought his first compact disc as a child

Most children born in the 1980s usually looked forward to the day they would get their first Compact Disc  (CD) player and would begin to enjoy music in their ears. Daichi’s very first CD which he bought was an album of pop legend Michael Jackson titled “History”. He fell in love immediately with the uniqueness of Michael’s voice and dance moves and tried emulating them to the best of his ability.

2. He has been influenced by some of the greats

Daichi grew up listening to and loving the music of popular American musicians such as the late Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Usher and inspirational Japanese music composer Hitoshi Matsumoto. These artists helped shaped his musical orientation and artistry.  He is often referred to as Japanese Michael Jackson.

3. His mother saw him dancing and sent him to art school

Daichi loved to dance as a child and he would impact dance to anything that had rhythm. When he was 6, his mother saw him dancing to the theme music of an Anime series on television and was so impressed that she decided to enrol him at the Okinawa Actor’s School, where he learnt how to dance and sing.

4. Daichi Miura formed a group, FOLDER

When he turned 10, he teamed up with a few other musicians and formed the group called Folder, where he was the lead singer. The group released its very first single titled “Parachuter”, and he chose to be known simply as DAICHI, and he has maintained this name pretty much throughout his career.

5. Puberty hit him very hard

As a vocalist/singer, nothing devastates you more than losing your voice or having vocal cords issues, and as Daichi grew older and the realities of puberty began to set in, his voice began to change from what both he and his fans were used to, and this affected his self-confidence very badly – so much so that he had to quit his music group and focus on other things temporarily.

6. He is a multi-instrumentalist

Daichi came to prominence as the lead vocalist of the group, Folder, but it needs to be said that he is not a one-trick pony as he is also extremely good at playing a few musical instruments. He plays the guitar, piano, Cajon and drums extremely well, and he is also known to have performed solo concerts using digital music creation instruments such as the Ableton Push.

7. He is married to a woman whose name is not known

Daichi is not known to be a celebrity that shares too much information about his private life, so we do not know the true history of his past relationships.

On January 1, 2015, he got married to his present wife and chose not to disclose her identity to the media, but word has it that she is definitely not a celebrity. He used his Instagram account to announce the birth of his first son in 2016 by posting a picture of his beautiful hands and thanking his family and fans for their support. He used the same medium to announce the birth of his second child in 2019, sharing a picture of the newborn’s hands and a “fatherly” message as well.

8. Daichi Miura Also Pursued A Professional Career as a Solo Artist

He began his solo career in 2005 and has not looked back since then, rather he grew as an artist who has raked in several awards over the years. He has released 7 albums as a solo artist and released 29 singles as well with notable ones such as Blizzard (2018), Excite (2017), (Re)Play (2016), Fureau Dake De – Always With You (2014) and several others that have brought him commercial success.

9. The Net Worth of Daichi Miura is Around $5 million

Daichi has been an artist for more than 2 decades now and though he prefers not to reveal personal details about his life and affairs to the public, it is believed that he has been able to garner a net worth of about $ 5 million over the years.
