Until his sudden and unfortunate death, Takeoff was one of the three members of the hip-hop group, Migos. Alongside his first cousin Offset and his uncle Quavo, Takeoff was raised by Quavo’s mother Edna Marshall. The trio was raised around Lawrenceville, Georgia where they founded their hip-hop group in 2008.
Takeoff Was Murdered at a Bowling Alley in Houston, Texas on the 1st of November 2022
The youngest member of Migos was shot and killed in the early morning of Tuesday, November 1, 2022. He was the victim of a shooting incident at 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston, Texas. According to the police and witnesses, the fatal incident which saw two other victims hospitalized happened around 2:30 AM.
It is said that the late rapper and his uncle Quavo were at the bowling alley playing dice when an altercation broke out. Someone started shooting and Takeoff got hit somewhere around his head. He died on the scene, Quavo is unharmed, and no arrest has been made.
The rapper born on the 18th of June 1994 celebrated his 28th birth anniversary roughly four months prior to his death.
What We Know about the Family Life of the Late Rapper
Takeoff’s family life revolved around members of his hip-hop group: his cousin Offset and his uncle Quavo. As stated earlier, the three were raised by Quavo’s mother Edna Marshall. Being Quavo’s nephew means Takeoff’s mother is Quavo’s sister; it also suggests that Edna Marshall “Mama Huncho” is Takeoff’s maternal grandmom. So who is the biological mother of the late rapper?
Is Quavo’s Sister Truly Takeoff’s Mom?
The true identity of Takeoff’s biological mother has been quite confusing to the public. While it is known that Mama Huncho is the matriarch of the Migos, she only gave birth to one of the three rappers—Quavo. Now, it is widely believed that Quavo’s sister gave birth to Takeoff. But then, Kashara Marshall is his only sister known to the public.
We gathered that Kashara has only two daughters with her husband Jay. So if Quavo’s sister is truly Takeoff’s mother, then she is the other sister of Quavo whose identity has been a mystery to the public. It is believed that Quavo has two sisters but only Kashara is known to the public.
It has also been claimed in some quarters that Latabia Woodward is Takeoff’s mother. If this is true, then she can’t be Offset’s mother as reported across many credible platforms: Takeoff was Offset’s cousin once removed.
Was Takeoff Married and Does He Have Kids?
Takeoff’s father abandoned his family when the late rapper was a kid and nothing has been heard from him since then. Admired as the quiet and self-contained member of Migos, Takeoff kept much of his private life away from the public. Be that as it may, it is no secret that he wasn’t anyone’s husband.
Over the years he was romantically linked to several women but none of the claimed relationships was confirmed. And as far as the public knows, he did not father any child.
Takeoff Made His $26 Million Net Worth Through His Musical Career
Takeoff’s net worth at the time he passed was estimated at $26 million. Needless to say, he accumulated his wealth from his career in the music industry. His career began in 2008 when Migos was formed. With Migos, his body of work includes four studio albums, twelve mixtapes, and an extended play.
With hundreds of thousands of records sold, the hip-hop group makes as much as $150,000 per tour stop. Disregarding what he made as a member of Migos, he also earned good money from his solo efforts. As a solo artist, the late rapper dropped his debut studio album, The Last Rocket, in 2018. He also had at least five singles to his name. Some of his most popular songs are “Last Memory” and “Casper”.
