His Career Journey
His incredible journey to stardom began after the release of his first studio album in March 2015. The 13-track album set the tone for him to better his trade.
Well, 6 months later, he released Siempre Firme on 16th October 2015. The album which has 14 tracks unexpectedly made it to the list of the Top Albums of Latin Music in 2016.
In 2018, the Mexican singer and songwriter received his first-ever award of ‘Premios de la Radio’ for the song, Como Los Vaqueros. Two years before that, he was awarded by BMI for El Agüitado, a song written by him and performed by Jorge Valenzuela.
Initially, Ramirez was going to record the song together with Valenzuela, but he didn’t want to be in the song. Interestingly, the song received a warm welcome on the streets and was eventually signed by Universal who promoted it in the US.
Following the successes he enjoyed in 2015 and 2016, he released his 3rd album Benecido on 20th April 2018. The 17-track album had a couple of hit songs that garnered millions of views on YouTube.
For instance, Rolling Stone, the first track on the album was viewed more than 100,000 times on YouTube a few weeks after release. While other hits such as Gente del General, Soy Mencho, Como Los Vaqueros, and Recordando a Manuel were said to had more than $260 million views. Moreover, he ended 2018 with another big hit, El de la gorra 27, which had more than a million views a few days after release and has more than 42 million views as of 2022.
In 2019, Benecido won the Billboard Latin Music Award for Regional Mexican Album of the Year. The following year, he was nominated for Regional Mexican Artist of the Year. In addition, he received 5 RIAA certifications and 2 Latin multi-platinum for Rolling Stone and Recordando a Manuel.
