Windham Rotunda, also known as Bray Wyatt died of a heart attack caused by COVID-19 and had been suffering from health challenges since February 2023. He died on August 24, 2023, at the age of 36 and it was announced on Twitter by Triple H.
Bray Wyatt was survived by four children from 2 women and many family members such as parents, siblings, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He also left a remarkable legacy through his professional wrestling career that started in 2009.
He was a WWE champion and a member of The Wyatt Family.

The two-time WWE Universal championship title holder died of a heart attack on Thursday, August 24, 2023. He was 36 years old and since the beginning of 2023, around February, he had suffered health challenges that were left under wraps at the time.
Nonetheless, it was later revealed that he suffered COVID-19 and it resulted in his demise. He was earlier said to have been responding to treatment before the heart attack that killed him.
Bray Wyatt’s death was announced on X, formerly known as Twitter by Triple H, an American business executive and a former wrestler. He revealed that he received the sad news from Mike Rotunda, an American retired professional wrestler.
Triple H asked at the time that Wyatt’s family be given privacy as they go through the hard time of losing a family.
Bray is sadly one of the many wrestlers who died of a heart attack at 36. Some of them include Gary Albright (died in 2000), Harry Boatswain (died in 2005), and Michael Jerome “Jerry” Tuite (2003).
What Happened Just Before He Died
Wyatt’s last match was against LA Knight at the 2023 Royal Rumble. The fight went in favor of Wyatt and he pledged to target whoever won the match between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley at Elimination.
Lashley won and Wyatt would have fought him. Unfortunately, the fight never happened due to Wyatt’s health challenges that led to his death.
One of his last major wins was when he was named Best Return by the New York Post in 2022. Before then, he won several titles, including,

- He was a two-time WWE Universal Champion
- Wyatt won the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship – with Matt Hardy
- The Brooksville-born late fighter won the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship– with Randy Orton and Luke Harper
- He won the Tag Team Eliminator (2018) – with Matt Hardy
- Bray Wyatt was named WWE Year-End Award for Male Wrestler of the Year (2019)
Away from his also became engaged to “Jojo” Josean Alexie Offerman, an American ring announcer, professional wrestler, and singer in 2022.
Together, they had two children Knash Sixx and Hyrie Von, born on May 18, 2019; and May 28, 2020, respectively.
Before then, Wyatt had 2 other children with his ex-wife Samantha Rotunda.
