1. Her Parents were Absent During Her Childhood
Popularly known as Tokischa, the rapper’s full name is Tokischa Altargracia Peralta. It’s not a hidden fact that she was born to her parents on March 17, 1996, and was raised in Puerto Plata, the Dominican Republic.
Although Tokischa has many things to be grateful for, she didn’t have a great childhood because her parents were mostly absent. She was only three years old when her father was jailed and her mother had to move to the US to search for a job. Consequently, Tokiska shuffled between the homes of relatives and only saw her mother once in a while.
After her preparatory education, she proceeded to study fine and dramatic arts.
2. She Went into Modeling at 16
Tokischa has always been drawn to performing arts from an early age. According to her, she would occasionally lock herself in the bathroom to perform in front of a mirror. It was also a getaway time from some burdens.

Talent, as many have said, never hides. Tokischa was discovered by the producer Raymi Paulus while showing off her musical abilities during a photo shoot for a magazine in the Dominican Republic. Consequently, this led to her first recording contract with Paulus Music.
The rapper released her debut song Picala in collaboration with the Dominican singer Tivi Gunz in 2018. Thereafter, she featured in the soundtrack of Miss Bala: Merciless titled Perras Como Tú.
Since then, Tokischa has released a number of songs and has also collaborated with high-profile artists like J Balvin, Rosalia, and Madonna. Some of her other songs include; Que Viva, Empatillada, Twerk, Varon, Desacato Escolar, and Linda.
