Rihanna, the globally renowned and beloved singer, has revealed that she went the entire year of 2024 without doing one thing—drinking!
The musician reveals that she is starting the year 2025 clean after one year of abstinence from alcohol. Apparently, Rihanna, who is fondly referred as Ri, went alcohol-free in 2024.
On New Year’s Day, Wednesday, January 1, 2025, the 36-year-old Rihanna thrilled her millions of fans when she took to social media to post a video of herself ushering in the New Year with friends, while looking very ecstatic and joyous.
In the video she shared, the singer disclosed that she stayed away from taking alcohol throughout the past 12 months. While celebrating the countdown to 2025, she held up her phone to capture the iconic ball drop in New York City’s Times Square.
Talking to her 150 million followers on Instagram, Rihanna declared proudly: “Y’all, I didn’t drink all year.” She made the declaration after the clock struck midnight.
The short video, which was captioned “New Year, New Me”, features the Fenty Beauty founder enjoying a relaxed New Year’s Eve celebration, casually dressed in a gray robe and surrounded by friends joining in the countdown with their drinks raised. Rihanna rang in the New Year in New York City alongside her boyfriend, A$AP Rocky. According to People, the couple shares two sons: RZA, 2, and Riot, 1.
Rihanna also shared other clips. In another Instagram video, the singer is seen playfully joking with friends while using her Fenty Hair shampoo to clean a hair extension.
“You owe me a new bottle!” she laughs, referring to her pals. “For one stinkin’ track!” She captioned the post, “De Dirt!!! We walking into 2025 CLEANSED baby! 1 track at a time! Also, tell @mdollas11 to stay out of my bathroom!”
