Popularly known as Reidy, his ATP Tour bio states that he became a professional tennis player at the age of 19 in 2009 even though there are sources that claim he became a pro in 2007.
During his amateur years, he competed in the junior Wimbledon Doubles championship in 2008 pairing with Bernard Tomic. Although the pair lost, they were the runner-up in the Wimbledon Boys Doubles.
