Marcello Magni was an Italian actor, director, and co-founder of the Theatre de complicit known for Nine (2009), Mr. Turner (2014), and Doctor Who (2005). His wife of many years was Kathryn Hunter. The pair got married in 2011 and remained so until death snatched Marcello on September 18, 2022.

Details about his early life, family background, and siblings are elusive from the media. What is known however is that he was born in Bergamo, northern Italy but relocated to Britain as a teenager.

After Marcello’s preparatory education at the Bergamo school, Alle Grazie, he enrolled at Jacques Lecoq’s school in Paris, France to horn his acting skills and was tutored by the likes of  Philippe Gaulier, Pierre Byland, and Monika Pagneux.

Until his sad demise, Marcello was the people’s favorite and was even tagged a gifted clown, his voice was also used for several characters including the Pingi.

Marcello Magni was Kathryn Hunter’s Husband For Over a Decade

Marcello was married to his co-actor and stage partner Kathyrn for 12 years. As the story goes, Marcello first met Kathryn through his colleague Annabel Arden at the tapas bar in Clapham. The pair became friends almost immediately following their interest in theatre performances but maintained their boundaries.

According to Marcello, Kathryn made the first move. She repeatedly told him she loves him but he would respond that he wasn’t yet in love. He also revealed in an interview that he had just left a relationship and needed to be sure he was over his ex-girlfriend.

Moving on, the pair became so close to each other, and love sparked on one of their tours in southern Italy. Consequently, they got married in June 2011 in the presence of their family and friends.

More than being regarded as Marcello’s wife, Kathryn holds her ends in the entertainment industry as an actress. The pair have recorded a lot of wins together. They have performed together on stage, co-directed plays, and complimented each other in every way.
