Nicolas Hamilton, Lewis Hamilton’s half-brother, is a British racing driver who competes in the British Touring Car Championship as captured earlier. The 33-year-old was born on March 28, 1992, to Anthony Hamilton and Linda Hamilton in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, England.
Shortly after his birth, Nicolas was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, a disorder that causes serious issues with movement, posture, and coordination.
Nic has admitted that as a young child, he used to cry himself to sleep because he didn’t understand why he was born with this impairment, but he eventually took the decision to build his leg muscles by walking as much as he could without assistance, which wasn’t always simple. Also, to make sure he minimized the effects of his disability he had to work hard in the gym to strengthen his arm, hand, and leg muscles.
Another activity he did frequently as a child was riding a bike with stabilizers. When he tried to cycle, his feet would always come off the pedals because his legs were so tight. His mother then fastened them to the pedals to ensure they don’t come out.
Nic stated he couldn’t be more pleased with the way he currently walks after his struggles. He has urged those who have cerebral palsy to embrace their situation.
For Nic, even when it may seem completely unachievable, there are many people in this world who can demonstrate the limitless potential and promising future for kids with cerebral palsy.
2011 Marked Nicolas Hamilton’s Debut Season in Racing
Nic recalled his first time driving a go-kart in a deserted parking lot when he ran into a high kerb and fell into 6 inches of water. Despite this, he persisted, and with much effort and determination, he made his racing debut in the Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom in 2011 driving for Total Control Racing.
And because of his condition, Nicolas competes in races with a specially modified vehicle. Even though he finished last in his debut race, he gained a lot of fans and media attention. His first season was the subject of a BBC documentary entitled Racing with the Hamiltons: Nic in the Driving Seat.
Meanwhile, Nic has also backed the idea of a racing academy for disabled drivers and he helped launch the UK’s first race academy for disabled drivers. The academy aims to give any disabled driver with a full UK driving license the chance to receive race coaching, mentoring, or tuition. It estimates there are two million disabled drivers in the UK.

Although Nicolas is not yet married, he has been dating a fitness coach called Sophie Hamshere. Nic has been seeing Sophie for about 6 years, and the two are frequently spotted sharing romantic moments.
