A star of the stage and mainstream movies, Joyce Randolph is unforgettable, especially for her role in The Honeymooners. Apart from the good stage of acting that she enjoyed fame from, life has also given her a fair stage as she has lived to her 90s and is currently 100 years old.
In her years and staying off the cameras, there have been questions regarding where she is and what she has been up to. Before this report, I have come across numerous information – some claiming that the American actress died in 2021 after spending some of her last moments in care while others claim that she celebrated her 97th in 2021 and her 98th in 2022 and is still living.
What do you think? Anyway, while you think of what may have happened to her and if any of these stories or her whereabouts were true, why don’t you let us lead you to her life since she took a bow from the stage? But before then, the actress was featured in The Honeymooners, Modern Romances, and was involved in numerous commercials.
Let’s Find Out What Happened to Joyce Randolph
We could say that The Honeymooners both made and marred Joyce Randolph “the Garbo of Detroit” to a certain extent. The sitcom made her a screen goddess but sadly, she couldn’t get much worship outside of it. After the show, she got more commercials and juggled occasional musical summer stock.
This was after she was a part of Jackie Gleason Show. She also appeared in a few works such as an episode of Hi, Honey, I’m Home, she played a Dof Walker in Everything’s Jake in 2000, played Alice Loring in one episode of The Doctors and the Nurses in 1964, and appeared in several other shows, not as an actress though.
So, one would wonder how she moved from a hundred as an actress to the ground. She revealed that after The Honeymooners where she portrayed Trixie Norton and immortalized her name as the fictional wife of “Ed Norton”, directors didn’t want to cast her.
According to these filmmakers, she was very much known as Trixie already. Could have been a good thing that she interpreted her role so well that the world turned its face towards her. Unfortunately, directors at the time may be looking for some breath of fresh air in other actors.
In any case, the actress was not the only one to have been faced with similar faith was faced with this challenge. Her costar Audrey Meadows faced similar disadvantages in her career after the show.
When Her Acting Career Declined, She Moved to Manhattan With Her Wealthy Husband
Joyce Randolph was married to a wealthy retired executive in October 1955. When her career declined and she was more into making commercials, she moved to Manhattan which had retired by 1994.
Her husband also served as “shepherd,” or president and she was first lady.
Somehow, we can say that Randolph’s marriage outlived her career. At least, there wasn’t really a break as in divorce. Sadly, it ended with Charles’ death in 1997 at 74. Randolph was at the time 63 years old.
Prior to his demise, the actress and her husband had a son, Randolph Richard Charles (46). He also took a career as a marketing executive and lives in Philadelphia.

However, early enough, she discovered her flare for acting and was willing to explore it. This would lead her to act with the Wayne University Workshop as a teenager trying to find her footing.
However, doors to roles as an actress were not open and she worked with a store in her hometown in Detroit before she landed a space to tour with a group.
