The Canadian singer-songwriter, Gordon Lightfoot’s kids are six in number. They include two daughters – Ingrid Lightfoot and Meredith Moon and; four sons namely Fred Lightfoot, Gaylen McGee, Eric Lightfoot, and Miles Lightfoot. His children are the product of his two marriages and other relationships in between.

Gordon Lightfoot’s first child, Fred is the oldest of the singer’s 6 children. He was born on Febuary 1,1964 by the singer and his first wife, Brita Ingregerd Olaisson. According to the reports, the 60-year-old grew up alongside his younger sister, Ingrid.

As hinted already, Ingrid was raised alongside her older brother, Fred Lightfoot which means that she is the second oldest of Gordon’s children. She was born a year after her brother precisely December 31, 1965, and she’s 58– years old at the moment.
Like her brother, she also prefers maintaining privacy. However, she shares an interest in singing and songwriting like her father. While she doesn’t have any music career record, reports have it that she influenced the lyrics of her father’s song “If You Could Read My Mind”.
At the time the song was written, the singer was reportedly going through some rough patches with his wife. Since it was an overwhelming time, the song focused on his fallout with his wife following infidelity and how he was dealing with it.
Listening to this, his daughter thought that he didn’t share in the blame and requested that he change the lyrics from “I’m just trying to understand the feelings that you lack” to “I’m just trying to understand the feelings that we lack.”

Following the singer’s divorce from his first wife, he got into a relationship that birthed his third and thereafter, another one which bore him his fourth child. Unfortunately, information about these women, how they met, and when their relationship started isn’t known to the public.

Gordon’s relationship after his first divorce birthed his third child Gaylen McGee. Since Gaylen doesn’t share the same last name as his father, there have been several questions concerning his paternity. However, several claims suggest that Gordon is his father.

Eric is also another child that was birthed during his father’s relationship in the 80s. He was born on December 30, 1981, and he’s 42 years old right now. Information pertaining to the early life of Eric isn’t known to the public. It is also difficult to assert the identity of his mother.
Nonetheless, we garnered that he joined an alternative band in Toronto, Canada in the early 2000s and was with the band for a while. After 16 long years of being divorced from his first wife and trying several relationships, Gardon decided to give it another shot to marriage. He got married to his second wife Elizabeth Moon in 1989 and they pair stayed married for several years which made Gardon a father twice. Their marriage saw the birth of two children, Miles Lightfoot, and Meredith Lightfoot.
Unfortunately, Gardon and Elizabeth officially divorced in 2011 after they had been reportedly separated since 2003. Following this, he got married to the actress, Kim Hasse who remained his wife until his death in 2023.

As stated, Miles is a product of Gordon’s second marriage to Elizabeth Moon. He was born in 1991 which means that he is 33 years old at the moment.
Though his father and mother’s relationship was highly publicized, Miles grew up in the shadows and the public only knew of his existence and nothing more. There are no details concerning his educational background, career pursuits as well as his relationship and love life.
Like his other siblings, the demise of his father has placed him in the media’s face following people’s curiosity. It’s just unfortunate that he isn’t ready for the celebrity lifestyle.
Meredith Moon is Gardon Lightfoot’s only Child who is Pursuing a Career in the Music Industry
Unlike Meredith’s older siblings, she is the only one who took her father’s career path in the music industry. She is known to be established as a singer and guitarist and still uses her mother’s last name, “Moon”.
Meredith was born sometime in 1996 and she’s 28 years old. Even though not so much about her early life is known, there are a couple of things we garnered about her music career. Meredith’s unique style of music is crafted from her unique blend of genres. According to her website, she combines folk-punk with a traditional Appalachian sound and adapts the clawhammer banjo style as well.
She has a number of singles and two albums to her name including Forest Far Away (2018) and Constellations (2023). She has also collaborated with a number of big names including the singer-songwriter Julian Taylor, Gold Tone Music Group, and True North Records/Linus Entertainment.
Asides from singing, she also plays a couple of instruments and would easily pass off as a multi-instrumentalist. Some of her favorites include the guitar, piano, and lap dulcimer. Meredith has toured several countries such as Canada, Mexico, Central America, the UK, and Europe.
