Arlene Silver, mostly famous as the wife of award-winning actor Dick Van Dyke is a professional makeup artist. The pair first met in 2006 and maintained an enviable friendship which saw them get married in 2012 despite being 46 years apart agewise.
While you would soon learn more about Arlene, the star actor, comedian director, and producer Van Dyke doesn’t need much of an introduction. He is known for his decades-long film and television appearances. Arlene Silver is 53 years old at the moment. Though her exact date of birth isn’t known, we garnered that she was born sometime in September 1971. From our research, she was born in Bronx New York but relocated to California in 1981 at the age of 10. Records have it that her mother was given a job at City National Bank headquarters in Los Angeles and they had to move.

It’s not known what spurned her interest in that field however, she has been given credits for several short videos and series productions in the art and makeup department.
Some of these projects include; The Men of Delta Farce Salute the Troops (2007), Murder 101 (2008), Die Luaghing (2008), The Caretaker 3D (2010), The Men of the Next Three Days and Merry Xmas (2015).
She Met Her Husband in 2006 When he was Still Married to His Longtime Partner
Arlene and Van Dyke first met at the 13th Screen Actors Guild annual Awards in 2006 and records have it that she applied stage makeup on Van Dyke during the event. Though he was still with his longtime partner Michelle Trolla Marvin, the pair maintained a great friendship. Arlene also earned the opportunity to work as a makeup artist for some of his movies.
Unfortunately, Van Dyke lost his partner of over 3 decades Michelle in 2009. She was 76 years old at the time of her death and is reported to have battled lung cancer.
It was at this time that Arlene and Van Dyke’s friendship advanced. According to him, she would check up on him after work and bring food alongside. He added that the support and care she showed made him fall in love pretty hard.

Arlene and Van Dyke Got Married in 2012 after Dating For a Year
Two years after the passing of Van Dyke’s partner, he started dating Arlene and propose marriage in 2012 regardless of the 46 years age difference between them. The pair had 2 beautiful ceremonies which were witnessed by many close friends and family members. The first was a low-key event on Febuary 29, 2012 in Malibu while the second was a big ceremony on September 8, 2012, themed seafoam circus.
Arlene and Van Dyke have enjoyed many years of marital bliss and nothing seems to change. They have graced red carpet shows and events together. They two have also shared great moments together at the gym and during work projects.
As for Van Dyke, Arlene made him the happiest man in the world and she is the best wife. Likewise, the makeup artist has praised her husband calling him a national treasure and perfect partner. True to this, Van Dyke’s publicist Bob Palmer revealed that Arlene brings a lot of light into Van’s life as he has never been this happy.

At the moment, Arlene and Van Dyke do not have any children together. Nonetheless, she is a stepmother to Van Dyke’s children from his first marriage.
Needless to say, before Van Dyke’s marriage to Arlene, he was previously married to Margerie Willett from 1948 until 1984 when they divorced. She was also the mother of his 4 children Christian, Barry, Stacy, and Carrie Beth.
