Richard Cromwell was Married to the Actress For Less Than a Year (1945-1946)
Richard Cromwell was an American actor famed for his roles in Bungalow 13 (1948), Riot Squad (1941), and Young Mr. Lincoln (1939). He was the first husband of Angela Lansbury.
The former couple became married on September 27, 1945, in Independence, California in a civil ceremony in California when Angela was 19 and Richard was 35.
The marriage lasted until 1946 when they divorced. As regards why the marriage ended, Angela had reportedly acknowledged that her first was a mistake and that she learned a lot from it.
There are also allegations that Angela made a revelation that her first husband was gay or bisexual. However, she had said that she never blamed him for his sexuality.
Whatever the case, the former couple had a good cordial relationship even after the failure of their marriage and remained friends till Richard’s death due to liver cancer on October 11, 1960.
Peter Shaw was the Second of Angela Lansbury’s Husbands and was Married to the Actress For 54 Years (1949-2003)
Peter Shaw was an English producer and actor who was also famous as the second husband of Angela Lansbury.
He married his actress wife in 1949, 3 years after Angela’s first marriage failed.
At the time of the marriage, Peter was 31 while Angela was 24 years old.
