Marina Marenko, Andrey Rublev’s Mother Works with Spartak Tennis Club
Undoubtedly, Andrey Rublev’s mother has been one of the most important people in his life and career. Not just for the fact that she birthed him, Marina Marenko groomed her son from a very young age to the point where he could go into the world, explore, and conquer.
On her own, she made a name for herself as a great tennis coach working with the Spartak Tennis Club located in Russia. There, Marina had the opportunity to meet with and train a lot of top, famous tennis players including former Russian tennis star, Anna Kournikova. Some other notable tennis players she has worked with are Irina Khromacheva and Daria Gavrilova.
Due to her stellar contribution to the Sporting world through tennis, this one part of Andrey Rublev’s parents won notable recognition.
She was given the Medal of the Order ‘For Merit to the Fatherland’ in 2009. The medal is a Russian medal given to people who have made outstanding contributions to the Russian State.
Marina is also the mother of Anna Arina Marenko who is a Russian former professional tennis player. She retired after having reached her highest WTA ranking of 411 and doubles ranking of 338.

Andrey Rublev’s Father is a Former Boxer
The senior Andrey Rublev is a former professional boxer turned restauranteur. He has a chain of restaurants littered all over places in Russia.
According to Tennis No. 13, he never eats at home and has the option of dining in any of his father’s restaurants. He also stated that there are about 14 restaurants that offer different cuisines including Russian, Japanese, and Italian.
Andrey Rublev Snr. has roots in Austria through his mother known as Larisa Genrikhovna Rubleva. The restaurant owner’s parents helped him and his wife raise his son when they were too busy and occupied with their careers.

As briefly stated earlier, Marina was responsible for her son’s fondness for tennis. She began to allow him to train from the tender age of 3 and even exposed him to other older players whom she coached.
Marina has been quite involved in her son’s career. She has taken up positions such as manager, promoter, and even defender.
When her son came under fire for calling a seize-fire in the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war, she took to his defense. Marenko stated that her son was under a lot of pressure from the journalist who kept bombarding him with questions in order to rile him up.
According to Marina, her son is a hero for speaking against his country in the face of the war.
Backtracking a bit, in Andrey Rublev’s early days as an upcoming tennis player, he had his mom fight for better sponsorship for him. She went head-to-head with the Russian Federation just to secure better treatment and aid for her son.
When he was an amateur tennis player, Andrey was under the tutelage of Sergey Tarasevich, a Belarusian tennis coach. However, he soon went under the watchful eyes and coaching skills of Spanish coach, Fernando Vicente.
From Andrey Rublev Srn., the Russian tennis player learned a few things from boxing and sparring. He was able to build stamina from there which has helped him in his career. He ended up learning more from his mother, though.
Marina Marenko provided him with a racket from his early days. He also preferred his time at the tennis court better than when he went to the gym. However, he admits that the workouts he had while at the gym still help him to date.
While his father never insisted on his son taking up boxing. The senior Rublev only encouraged his son to go as far as he was willing to go. The 27-year-old athlete took this advice and is now one of the most talked about Tennis players in recent times.
