Former football player Ahmad Rashad(75) has been married 5 different times and has been divorced four times. His ex-wives are Deidre Waters, Maltida Johnson, Phylicia Rashad, and Sale Johnson. He has been married to Ana Luz Rodriguez since 2016 and it looks like that’s the last for the broadcaster.
Ahmad Rashad’s last two marriages did not produce any children but the first three did. His children are Keva Rashad, Condola Phylea Rashad, Sean Rashad, Maiyisha Rashad, Ahmad Rashad Jr., and Geoffrey Simmons.

1. Deidre Waters(1969-1971)
Ahmad Rashad married Deidre Waters in 1969. The marriage only lasted for two years and they soon divorced. The reason for their divorce still remains a mystery as neither of them has come out to share details about it.
Before the marriage ended, the duo shared a daughter, Keva Rashad, who was born in 1970 the same year he fathered a son with another woman.
2. Maltida Johnson(1976-1979)
Rashad married for the second time in 1976. His marriage with Maltida Johnson was also short-lived but regardless of that, they shared two children Maiyisha and Ahmad Jr. before they divorced in 1979.
3. Phylicia Rashad (1985-2001)
Rashad Ahmad and Phylicia had a highly publicized marriage in 1985. Interestingly, it was the third marriage for the two of them. Apparently, the former footballer proposed to the actress on national TV during NBC’s pregame show to broadcast the Thanksgiving Day football match between Detroit Lions and New York Jets.
The pair soon became one of Hollywood’s biggest stars as their marriage lasted for almost two decades. However, after sixteen years, they went their separate ways but before that, they had a daughter, Condola together.
Rashad also gained a stepson Billy Bowles (born during Phylicia’s first marriage). Their divorce was eventually finalized in 2001.
Of all Rashad’s five wives, Phylicia Ayers-Allen is the most famous. She is best known for her role as Clair Huxtable on the NBC sitcom, The Cosby Show (1984-1992). 4. Sale Johnson (2007-2013)
Born Robert Earl Moore, the former sports star married for the fourth time in 2007. He married Sale Johnson, who was previously married to Robert Woody Johnson, billionaire heir and owner of the New York Jets. Together with his fourth wife, Rashad co-parents her daughters, Casey, Jamie, and Daisy. Also, they adopted Casey’s daughter Ava-Monroe Johnson after Casey died of cancer.
Sadly, the marriage also crashed in 2013 and according to the court ruling, Ahmad Rashad and Sale Johnson would not share her wealth due to a prenuptial agreement they had signed before they tied the knot. Also, he was banned from entering her home but he had access to their adopted granddaughter via shared custody.
5. Ana Luz R. Rashad (2016-present)
Just when people thought he had given up on marriage, Ahmad Rashad decided to give it a try for the fifth time. He married Ana Luz Rodriguez-Paz in 2016. Ana Luz is a psychologist in South Florida and despite the 32-year age gap between them they have been married for almost a decade now.
Ever since she graduated from NYU, his present wife has had offices in Boca Raton and Miami. She has handled conditions such as family adjustment issues, adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and depression.

Born in 1970, Keva Rashad is the firstborn child of the American sportscaster. Despite her father’s fame, she has chosen to live her life away from the spotlight just like her mother.
Condola Phylea Rashad
Just like her mother, the 38-year-old is also an actress and famous for her theatrical play Ruined. She has also appeared in films such as The Trip to Bountiful, Stick Fly, and Saint Joan.
Sean Rashad
Sean Rashad was born the same year Keva was born. There are speculations that it could be the reason Rashad’s first marriage crashed.
Maiyisha Rashad
Maiyisha was born in 1976 and is currently 49-year-old. She is one of the two children Rashad had during his second marriage. She also lives on a low-key but has been seen in family events pictures which her father has shared on social media.
Ahmad Rashad Jr.
Ahmad Jr. is Maiyisha’s biological brother. He was born in 1978 and is currently 47-year-old. His father shared the news of his wedding on Instagram in August 2021.
Geoffrey Simmons
Not known to many, Ahmad Rashad had a son with his high school sweetheart Melody Neal. The child, Geoffrey was put up for adoption in 1967 but after he turned 18, he contacted Ahmad and they met for the first time in 2005. At the same time, he met his biological father, Simmons also got to know that his biological mother has long passed from cancer in 1991.
