In Detroit, Michigan on October 19, 1957, Dorinda Clark Cole was born to preachers Elbert Clark and Dr. Mattie Moss-Clark. Clark Cole had her early life growing up with her sisters Karen, Twinkie, Jacky, and Denise.
At an early age, Dorinda had begun to show her talent in music and was already singing at her father’s church with her sisters. Even with her talent, her mother would make her and the other Clark sisters practice hard before any performance. Even in the music career of the Clark Sisters, they’ve maintained good discipline that would see them gracing different stages and climbing the ladder of success.
On December 2, 1978, Cole became married to Gregory Cole. The couple has two children a daughter Nikkia Cole and Gregory Jay Cole Jr.

Dorinda as a child had shown her gifts beyond singing – preaching! Luckily, her Mother Moss-Clark helped her nurture both talents.
Even though she unleashed her desires in music in the 1960s, it was not until 1973 that she started recording music with her sisters on their uncle’s label Billesse Records. It was about the same time that the sisters released their first album Jesus Has A Lot To Give. With efforts and talent put together, the group was able to make hit songs that include “Is My Living in Vain”, “Praise the Lord (Hallelujah)”, “I Can Do All Things Through Christ That Strengthens Me”, “A Praying Spirit”, “Nothing to Lose, All to Gain”, “Endow Me”, “Jesus is a Love Song”, “Pure Gold”, and their biggest, “You Brought the Sunshine”. Together, they were able to claim 3 Grammy Awards among many prestigious accolades.
Away from her career as a member of the Clark Sister, Dorinda has packaged herself into a solo acclaimed singer who has a great number of songs and albums to her name. Some of her music includes hit songs “I’m Coming Out”, and “Change”. In all, Clark Cole has released 5 studio albums that including a self-named album in 2002, and the Rose of Gold (2005) which attracted a Grammy Nomination for the Best Traditional Soul Gospel (2007) and a win in the 2009 Stellar Award for the Best Female Artist of the Year.
Dorinda has ministered in different countries including South Africa where she made the history of becoming the first woman in the country to minister in the pulpit to more than 4,000 people. Likewise, she became an Assistant to the Elect Lady of the Evangelism Department of the International Church of God in Christ and is a member and administrator at the Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop J. Drew Sheard.
More to her achievements, she has risen to become the founder of Lifeline Productions Incs as well as become the host of Dorinda Show and co-host of TCT’s Celebrate on the Road. She is also a partner in creating The Bloom Collection, a fashion design collection of hat adorning accessories.
