American actress, Charlize Theron is a mother of two kids, Jackson and August. The Monster actress adopted her kids as boys but she now identifies them as girls.
The South African-born American actress who has never been married raises her kids as a single parent. She has been rather very open about how she adopted her kids, her journey as a parent, and her relationship with her children which seems to be going just fine.
Jackson Theron
Jackson Theron is Theron’s first child. The kid was born on January 11, 2012. Less than three months after the kid was born, the actress adopted Jackson. This was shortly before she began filming Mad Max: Fury Road.
Jackson, who is African American, was born in the United States. Charlize Theron revealed that when she set out looking for a child to adopt, she never cared much about anything specific. All she was interested in was a country where she would be allowed to adopt as a single parent.
August Theron
Theron’s second child is August Theron. Like her older sibling, August was born in the United States. The actress adopted August in July 2015.
Charlize Theron’s children spent their earliest years having a great relationship. However, as they continue to grow, things have changed a little.
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2018, the actress revealed that the dynamics of the relationship between her kids was seeing its share of sibling rivalry. She revealed that the relationship between the kids was evolving as they grew.

Are Charlize Theron’s Children Boys or Girls?
Although both Charlize Theron’s kids were born boys, the actress has since identified them as girls. She has not changed their names but raises the kids as girls and dresses them as such.
According to the actress, she initially thought her first child was a boy and raised Jackson that way until 3. She revealed that one day, the kid looked at has as a three-year-old and said “I am not a boy!”
Her second child also decided at a very early age that instead of a boy, as he was biologically born, he decided to instead, be identified as a girl.
Beyond just raising the kids as girls, Charlize Theron has also gotten them into activism. She revealed that her kids asked her how they could be involved in pride activities so that they could bring change.
