Nonna Giovanna was an advocate for eating, drinking, and other things we can’t type. Because of her bubbly personality, even at the age of 91, she was dearly loved by all her fans and followers.
Nonna Giovanna garnered over 800 followers on TikTok, and more than 140 followers on Instagram, and grew a large following on Facebook, as well. All these are from featuring in videos with her nephew Nicola Pazzi, with whom she shared the spotlight.
Grandmother Nonna, as she was fondly called, was a very loved skit maker whose wit and daily jokes in vernacular cracked people up so much and endeared her to a lot.
Unfortunately, she passed away on November 23, 2023, and the cause of her death has been a controversial topic ever since.
She Came into the Limelight at an Old Age
In 2018, aged 87, Grandma Nonna came into the limelight. She was well known for being an integral part of a series of skits put together by her nephew, Nicola Pazzi.
Widely known as a Tiktok star, Nonna Giovanna was making hilarious, witty videos where she cracked jokes in vernacular while engaging in conversations with Pazzi.
Her Instagram account dates back to July 9, 2018, when she made her first post welcoming people to follow her for funny posts.
Nonna isn’t just known for being witty with her words, she also served as material for memes and has quite a few littered on her Instagram account, which is believed to be handled by her nephew.
Above all, she was a woman who advocated for people to live happy lives and say whatever they wanted when needed.
She also loved to have fun as evident in her videos and images.
With her rapid success, Nonna was able to garner all types of fans and grow her social media following in many ways.
On TikTok, she had over 890k followers, on Instagram, she amassed 147k followers and on Facebook, her page had a lot of fans as well.
Age wasn’t a deterring factor for the then-octogenarian who still seemed quite strong as she carried out basic activities. Making TikTok videos with her nephew certainly wasn’t tasking either seeing that being funny came easily to her.

Who was Nonna Giovanna Outside Her Fame
Nonna Giovanna was born Giovanna Capobianco on December 26, 1931. She was from Sora (Frosinone), Italy, and grew up with her siblings and other extended family members.
She married a man known as Gino Malfatti but detailed information about her other family members and kids is not on public record.
Nonetheless, we do know that she has at least one daughter.
Given her age, it is most probable that she had grandchildren but they did not make it to her videos.
On Grandma Nonna’s Instagram, there are many throwback pictures of her and Pazzi. This goes to show that from when the 29-year-old man was still a child, he was always close to the TikTok star.
From some other throwback images on the social media platform, Nonna shared great times with people who we believe are family and perhaps, friends.
When she wasn’t making TikTok videos, Nonna Giovanna loved to be handy around the house. She cooked, cleaned, swept, and even tended to the plants and livestock (animals) in her home.
She seemed very strong and healthy until tragedy struck and it was revealed that she wasn’t as healthy as many saw her to be.
Her Death was Reported Wrongly – According to her Nephew
On November 23, 2022, aged 91, news reports carried the unfortunate demise of the beloved Nonna Giovanna.
According to many news publications, she died after being burnt by fire after falling into the fireplace in her home’s living room.
Grandma Nonna lived in Navacchio, Cascina, Pisa and reports suggest that at the time she passed, she was alone in her home.
The body of Giovanna was found by her daughter who decided to pay her mother a visit. Upon beholding the sight of her mother’s body, she called the police.
By the time the police arrived, they were only able to tell that she had indeed passed away.
News outlets reported that Nonna’s body was found charred from fire as she had fallen into her fireplace and burned to death. Aldo Mantovani, a prosecutor even asked for an autopsy to be carried out on Giovanna’s corpse.
In light of the news publications, Nonna Giovanna’s right-hand man and co-star, Nicola Pazzi has strongly refuted the claims made by the newspapers.
According to him, the 91-year-old TikToker did not burn to death. He did accept that she was seated by the fireplace as she loved to, however, she didn’t fall into it as widely claimed.
To further buttress his points, the young man revealed that Nonna had been ill for a while. He said that at the time of her death, the sickness had become worse and it was getting worse with each passing time.
This illness, Nicola, attributed to his grand-aunt’s death and not that she fell into her fireplace.
Both stories left people confused and most news publication still carry their version of the story.
Nicola Pazzi also stands strong on his story and further invited Nonna Giovanna’s fans and well-wishers to attend the burial ceremony which was organized for November 24, 2022.
As part of his speech which was uploaded on Instagram, he reminded fans of the grandma to always abide by what Nonna would always teach – eating, drinking, and telling everyone to go to h*ll!
