Iga Świątek Parents are the successful Polish couple Dorota Świątek and Tomasz Świątek. On their own Dorota is a medical worker who has garnered experience working as an orthodontist while her father, Tomasz, started out as an athlete who represented the Polish men’s quadruple scull as a power rower.
Though her parents have enjoyed success in their respective careers, they have been in the background giving their daughter all the needed support that has pushed her to win four grand slam titles. As it is, we are invested in finding out more about the people who have been cheering her even before she became famous globally.
Let’s Meet Iga Świątek Parents
Tomasz Świątek
He is a 60–year-old Polish rower who was born on July 26, 1964, in Warsaw, the capital and largest city of Poland. According to the athletics site Olympedia, the 192cm(5ft 6 inches) tall man who weighs 87kg has represented the country within and outside of its boundaries. Thusly, it is safe to say that Iga got her love for athleticism from her father.
In 1987, while still with the Polish University sports club AZS Warsaw, Tomasz was part of the team that participated in the Summer Universiade tournament held in Zagreb. While there, Iga’s father gave an impressive performance that aided the team to secure the gold medal. Next, he represented the country at the men’s quadruple scull event at the Summer Olympics in 1988, unlike his previous season, Tomasz came 7th overall.
Remarkably, his role and contribution to Polish sports did not go unnoticed. Unsurprisingly, he was honored with the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta for his achievements and contribution to Polish sports in 2020. It would be recalled that the youngest out of his two children, Iga was also honored with the Gold Cross of Merit during the same ceremony after she won the French Open Women’s singles title. Also, Iga has stolen the hearts of many tennis lovers with her impressive performance which earned her the title for French Open in 2022 and 2023 as well as the US Open in 2022.

Dorota Świątek
Unlike her husband and two daughters, Iga and Agatha, Dorota has a career far removed from sports. She has been sighted at events to support members of her family, yet, Dorota is much more comfortable practicing medicine, a field she was trained in.
According to reports, she completed her studies in the dental field of medicine and chose to specialize as an orthodontist, a qualified dentist that treats irregularities in the teeth and jaws.
Moving on to how she met and married Iga’s father, this detail remains a very private matter as they prefer to focus on their daughters’ careers.
Though Dorota keeps a low profile, she has remained a strong motivating factor for her daughters. Notably, she has attended events such as the French Open in 2022, where Iga won the title. Like many sports families such as the Currys and Mayweather‘s, there is always that child or member that would make the family popular. In the Świątek home, it is the youngest child, Iga. Her older sister, Agatha has shifted to follow in her mother’s footsteps when she enrolled to study dentistry at the Medical University in Lublin due to the frequent injuries she suffered as an athlete.
