David Vondrouš
Although David Vondrouš is most famed as the father of Markéta Vondroušová, he was also a tennis player in his teenage years. There is no sufficient record to show how far he went in pursuit of a career in tennis. This is likely because he only played the game for recreational purposes. Besides that, it is the prayer of lots of parents for their children to grow and be better than them. Though he did not reach his peak, David has traveled far and wide courtesy of his daughter’s tennis career successes. Moreover, he is deserving of all the credit he receives as he was the one that introduced tennis to his daughter when she was only 4 years old.
David initially understood that his daughter could be a successful athlete since she was a child. According to him, from the beginning, it was his vision that Markéta could play sports at the highest level. It was obvious that she was up to it. He also said that there was a time she took up skiing and the next year she went to the Alps. She also started playing floorball and immediately started scoring goals for her school team. Furthermore, she was also great at running or playing football with the boys. Interestingly too, when a ping-pong bat is placed in her hand, she immediately starts winning. As a result of these, the Vondroušová family became aware that their daughter had an extraordinary sporting talent. The challenge was that there were more variants. But in the end, it was tennis that sufficed for Markéta Vondroušová. Also according to David, he wanted Markéta to play tennis because she is smart, has a feel for the ball and she did exceptionally well at it.
Jindřiška Anderlová
Markéta Vondroušová’s mother, Jindřiška Anderlová is not left out in the sporting line. She played volleyball for SK Slavia Prague in the top-flight Extraliga and David once remarked that their daughter Markéta could have played volley, which her mother played at a high level but decided to go for tennis. Not much information about Jindřiška’s life is available. However, few of her photos appear on Markéta’s social media handles.
