Gordon Pinsent’s wife, Charmion King was a Canadian actress known mostly for her roles in the Anne of Green Gables movies and theatre productions. She was married to Pinsent from 1962 until her demise in 2007 after a long battle with emphysema and together, they shared a child named Leah Pinsent.

The Early life of Gordon Pinsent’s Wife
Charmion King was born on July 25, 1925, to Charles Williams King (father) and Amabel Reeves (mother). From the records, she was the only child of her parents and was raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
As for her education, she attended a private girls’ school in Toronto and later proceeded to the University of Toronto where she honed her artistic career.
The Toronto Born Pursued an Acting Career
Charmion developed a passion for acting at the age of 5. Since she attended an all-girls school, she was often cast in male roles especially because she possessed a low and powerful voice. Following her graduation from the University, she fully pursued a career as an actress.
Her career began at the Crest theatre and later joined the Stratford theatre where she appeared in several productions including; Saint Joan, Uncle Vanya, The Seagull, The Cherry Orchard, and Three Sisters. Subsequently, she earned roles in films and TV series such as Anne of Green Gables, Jackie, Ethel, Joan: The Women of Camelot, Room 222, and the Hitchhiker.
She was married to Gordon Pinsent Until Her Death
Charmion and Pinsent were married for 45 years. As the story goes, the pair first met at the Stratford theatre and soon became friends. They went on to act on stage together in plays such as Who Has Seen the Wind and Don’t Forget to Wipe the Blood Off. Later, their friendship blossomed into a relationship that saw them get married in 1962.
The pair enjoyed marital bliss for many years which saw the birth of their only child and daughter Leah Pinsent. She was born on September 20, 1968, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and is currently 56 years old.
Unfortunately, Charmion death in 2007 brought an end to their relationship. Her husband once shared that it was almost impossible to grasp the reality of her death. He was left asking questions such as “Where does love go? Where do you go, the leftover?”
Prior to Charmion, Pinsent was previously married and divorced. With his undisclosed ex-wife, he shared two children Barry and Beverly.

Leah pursues a career in the entertainment industry just like her parents who were both talented actors. She made her film debut in 1984 as Saxon Coldwell in the semi-autobiographical film The Bay Boy and subsequently films like April Fool’s Day (1986), Dick Richards (1996), The Bend (2011), and Wet Bum (2014).
Asides from films, she has also earned several roles in TV series such as The Little Kidnappers (1990), Topical Heat (1991), Made in Canada (1998), More Tears 18 to Life (2011), and Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town (2012).
Leah is currently married to a fellow actor known as Peter Keleghan. They became a couple a few years after she parted ways with her ex-husband Micheal Capellupo.
Charmion King Died From Complications of Emphysema
As earlier stated, Gordon Pinsent’s wife died in 2007 after battling emphysema for many years – a condition that damaged the air sacs of her lungs and also caused breathlessness. Charmion was 82 years old at the time.
While several years have passed, she still hasn’t faded from the hearts of many. Sadly, the news of her husband’s death on Febuary 25 2023 has left many even more heartbroken. Like his wife, he was a well-known actor famous for his role in Away from Her.
