Vladimir Putin children, though hidden from the spotlight for the most part of their lives, have been uncovered. The Russian politician and former intelligence officer who re-assumed office as the president of Russia in 2012 is the father of at least 2 known daughters.
Putin once served as the President of Russia from 1999 to 2008. He is said to have two daughters from his 30 years of marriage. However, there has been a lot of speculations and rumors of him fathering more than two children.
The confirmed daughters of the former Prime Minister of Russia are known as Maria Vorontsova (Faassen) and Katerina Tikhonova. They are all very successful women who, though have no strong affiliation with politics, are involved in it through different forms.
Let’s Meet the Mother of the Confirmed Daughters of Russia’s President, Vladimir Putin
Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Ocheretnaya born on January 6, 1958, is known as the former wife of Putin. She served as the first lady of Russia when her husband was the President of the country from 1999 to 2008. After this, she also served in the same capacity for a year; 2012 to 2013.
The former First Lady worked as a flight attendant for Aeroflot in the Kaliningrad branch. It was while she worked there that she met the then Intelligence officer. They reportedly met upon a mutual friend’s invitation.
The couple took their relationship further by getting married on the 28th day of June 1983. Two years later, they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Maria. A year after, Putin and Lyudmila welcomed their second daughter together. The name of their second child is Yekaterina.
Ocheretnaya served as Moscow representative of Telecominvest from 1998 to 1999. Upon her husband’s political feat, she became an acting first lady from December 31st, 1999 to 7th May 2000. However, from May 2000 to 2008, she fully became the first lady of Russia.
Similarly, she took her new position seriously and aimed at developing the Russian language. She is a linguist who studied Philology at Leningrad State University.
Aleksandrovna and Vladimir’s marriage came crashing after almost 3 decades. Weeks before their 30th wedding anniversary, they made a public announcement on State TV. The announcement was recorded at the State Kremlin Palace during the coverage of the Kremlin Ballet on June 6, 2013.
The couple cited that the decision was a mutual one as they barely saw each other often. The finalization of their divorce was announced in April of 2014. The mother of two then went on to re-marry about a year later to businessman, Artur Ocheretny.
Meet Vladimir Putin’s First Daughter, Maria Vorontsova
Born Maria Vladimironva Putina, she is the first daughter of the current Russian president. She was born on the 28th of April in Leningrad, Russian SFSR Soviet Union. The 39 year-old grew up in East Germany as her parent lived there at a point in her childhood. Putina is an educated young lady who attended a German school in Dresden, East Germany.
By 1991, Putin and his family moved to St. Petersburg and Maria enrolled in Peterschule. She however moved to Germany to stay with her legal guardian during the violent gang war that involved Tambov Gang.
Upon her family’s move to Moscow, Vladimironva attended the German School Moscow which was a school for children of diplomats. A lot of kids from Switzerland, Austria, and Germany attended this school where Maria spent about 11 years.
She then moved on to St. Petersburg State University where she studied Biology. After gaining a degree in Biology, she attended Moscow State University where she graduated with a degree in Medicine. She furthered her education in Endocrinology as a Ph.D. student in the Endocrinology Research Centre, Moscow.
Maria is reportedly an expert on dwarfism and an advisor to her father in genetic engineering. Similarly, she is knowledgeable in the usage of CRISPR to create genetically-engineered babies. Lyudmila’s first daughter is also an author who has co-authored 5 studies including one about idiopathic stunting in children.
Vladimironva Maria Putina is married to a Dutch businessman recognized as Jorrit Faassen. Together, they have welcomed two boys born in 2012 and 2017 as part of their family.
Russia’s Current President, Putin’s Second Daughter is Katerina Tikhonova
The second daughter of the president of Russia is known as Yekaterina Vladimirovna Putina. She was born on the 31st of August 1986 in Dresden, East Germany. The 38 year-old is a scientist, manager, and former acrobatic dancer.
She, being just a year younger than her sister basically grew up with Maria and also fled the country to stay with Stasi Matthias Warnig in Germany. This was during the period of the seizure of the St. Petersburg energy trade by the Tambov Gang.
Vladimirovna also attended the German School Moscow and Saint Petersburg State University. Yekaterina studied Japanese history and majored in Asian studies. She graduated from the university in June of 2009 and went on to Moscow State University where she got a master’s degree in Physics and Mathematics.
Important to note is the fact that the young Putina chose to abandon her father’s last name. She picked up that of her maternal grandmother hence the name ‘Yekaterina Tikhonovna Shkrebneva.
Tikhonova is the director of a $1.7 billion project known as Innopraktika. Similarly, she serves as the Deputy Director of the Institute for Mathematical Research of Complex Systems at the Moscow State University.
As an acrobatic dancer, Katerina became interested in non-Olympic sports sometime after 2010. She became passionate about ‘acrobatic rock’n’roll’ and even went ahead to study it. She participated in several competitions with her partner Ivan Klimov and even emerged in 5th place at the 2013 world championship that was held in Switzerland.
Putin’s second daughter was so invested in the sport that she was a one-time Vice President for Expansion and Marketing. From 2016 to 2019, the sport had become very popular in Russia and a center was built for it in Moscow.
Maria Tikhonova got married in 2013 to Kirill Shamalov who was the son of Nikolay Shamalov, the co-owner of Rossiya Bank. Shamalov also presided over the Sibur Holding Company as the Vice President. Shamalov and Maria separated in January of 2018.

Putin Vladimir allegedly has a third daughter from a supposed relationship with Svetlana Krivonogikh. It was reported that the affair happened sometime in 1999 when he first served as the President of Russia.
Svetlana has often been described by the media as a ‘cleaner turned millionaire mistress. She is said to be the mother of the young lady reported to be the President’s third daughter. Named Luiza Rozova, she is a fashion designer and DJ who is active on social media, especially Instagram.
She had been hidden for a long time until opposition media made several publications about her in 2021. However, the website was blocked by Russia’s state media watchdog. Also, Putin fought to keep the story secret sake of his image as a ‘protector of traditional values’.
Both father and daughter have tried to deviate from answering the lingering question. The DJ only admitted to ‘probably looking like a young Putin’. Her supposed father, through his spokesperson also stated that the allegations lacked enough proof.
Additionally, the young lady seldom posts pictures showing her face. The most you’d see on her Instagram page are pictures of food, places, and herself covering or shielding her face. The reason for this has been attributed to the fact that she is trying to hide her resemblance to Putin.

Vladimir Putin had quite a lovely relationship with his first two daughters. According to Lyudmila Putina, his ex-wife, the president was a spoiler. He was wont to shower his daughter with whatever they wanted. Their mother had to step in and was the disciplinarian in the family.
2. Maria and Katerina Attended Schools Under False Identities
Maria and Katerina attended public schools in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. They were also home-schooled for a while. However, for the best part of their education, they were unlinked to their father.
As daughters to a high-profile politician who once worked in the Intelligence unit, he made his daughters hide their identities. As a result, they had to school under false pretenses. This was in a bid to protect them from whatever external harm may be directed their way if uncovered.
3. Maria’s Father Doesn’t Have A Great Relationship with Her Kids

Apart from Putin’s love affair with Svetlana towards the end of the 1990s, he has been linked with other women. There was a relationship the president shared with retired rhythmic gymnast turned politician, Kabaeva Alina.
From the relationship with the gymnast, her kids born in 2015 and 2019 were alleged to be the Russian President. Though Putin was reportedly engaged to her in 2008, the story was denied and the news channel that reported it was shut down. Neither the engagement nor the paternity has been admitted by the President.
