Trevor Duke Moretz is a 38-year-old American actor, acting coach, and movie producer. Aside from his career in the movies, he is the older brother and manager of Chloe Grace Moretz. Known for her action roles, Trevor played a huge role in her career success.
So far his life in front of the cameras is documented, but there is so much more that is not known about the Los Angeles-born entertainer.
The Background of Trevor Duke Moretz
He was born on September 13, 1986, in Atlanta, Georgia to McCoy Lee Moretz and Teri Duke Moretz. His father was a plastic surgeon and his mother is a nurse. He is the second child among six siblings born to the couple. Sadly, one of his sisters, Kathleen Janette Moretz died in infancy in February 1988.
His father moved the family to Los Angeles in 2003 so that he can expand his practice as one of the top surgeons in the area. In his childhood, the family lived comfortably from Dr. Moretz’s successful practice as one of the top surgeons in the area as well as having a fortune in a hosiery business that was started by Trevor’s grandfather. As it is, the legwear company has since folded. It was sold in 2011 for the sum of $350 million.
Regarding his education, Moretz attended Beverly Hills High school, a popular school that boasts of such famous alumni like Angelina Jolie and Nicholas Cage.
His penchant for knowledge led him to Loyola Marymount University where he earned a degree in History. He also acquired knowledge in performance by enrolling at the Professional Performing Arts School, New York in 2002.
Trevor Duke Moretz’s Career
As mentioned earlier, Trevor is an actor. Per IMDB, his earliest credited roles are in the 2009 movie Youth in Revolt, Invisible Chronicles(2009), and Legally Blondes.
Through training and screen appearance, he has been able to launch himself as a producer. His work as a producer range from movies to animation.
Similarly, he partners with his sister Chloe in running her production company known as Treetop Pictures. Per his LinkedIn, he has been a Vice President of Production at the company since 2010.
According to the same source, the Atlanta-born entertainer is instrumental in the production of If I Stay, Gaslight, Everyone Worth Knowing, Beautiful Little Fools, and Emily the Strange: The Animated Series.
He is also an Acting Coach and Chloe’s Branding Manager
Aside from his acting career, the 38-year-old also coaches others. His sister Grace revealed that he is a great influence on her acting career. To give credence to such a statement, he helped the action star with her lines at the time she was attending auditions as a young girl.
With the kind of support she got from Trevor, it is not surprising that Grace was able to launch her career at the age of 7. Aside from taking the big brother’s role quite seriously, he became her manager, a position he has held since 2010.
As his sister’s manager, he supported her as a brand ambassador for Aeropostale and COACH.
The Movie Producer Has a Close-knit Family
Trevor and other members of his family share a close relationship. Perhaps due to the family’s abandonment by their father in 2007, the Moretz’ have remained a close-knit bunch. After McCoy left his wife and five children, he moved in with Jo-Ann Hilton, the aunt to Paris Hilton. Since then they all stood in for each other.
According to his sister Chloe, their mother taught them that blood is thicker than water. This adage has proven to be true between Trevor and other members of his family. His sister took this further by getting a tattoo with the initials of her brother’s and mother’s names in 2015.
Moving forward, Trevor and his siblings stood by their mother when she battled cancer twice.
Also, the four brothers became father figures to their little sister, Chloe. Ever since they have appeared on red carpets and at other events to show support for each other.
He Was Bullied for Being Gay
Despite always posing happily with each other in pictures, there was a time that he suffered for being gay. Reportedly, this happened while he was still growing up.
At the time he and one of his brothers, Colin turned gay, his Southern Baptist Christian family found this hard to accept. They even tried to pray out gayness from Trevor and Colin, but this never changed their s*xual orientation. This forced the family to accept them.
Inasmuch as the Moretz family was accepting of them, they became the center of bullying in the outside world. Thankfully, the two brothers learned to face their bullies.
Due to the experience of her brothers, his sister took it upon herself to speak out against bullies. She made it clear that she will put a distance between herself and such bullies as well as block them.
As one would find, she has put this warning to good use as well as produced Coming Out, an unscripted Snapchat series that deals with LGBTQ issues and how they can find acceptance while coming out.

With a relationship that is still going strong as of this writing, it is not surprising that the two have been spotted with members of their family.
