The American actor, Tobin Bell has been active in the entertainment industry since the late 70s and he’s best recognized for his role as the iconic Jigsaw killer in the Saw franchise. Despite his recent appearances in films and TV series such as Rebroken (2022), and The Curse Of Wolf Mountain (2023), his penchant for privacy has garnered curiosity about his whereabouts. Let’s get to find out what Tobin is up to.
Tobin Bell is 82 Years Old and He’s Still Acting
Tobin’s whereabouts only became a thing of interest following his private life. As you would find, the actor has long embraced a low-profile lifestyle and managed to keep his personal life away from the public.
Besides, for a career that has spanned over 4 decades, it’s normal to think that the 82-year-old has retired. However, that isn’t the case. According to our findings, Tobin Bell has not disappeared from the limelight as often though. In fact, he’s still active in the entertainment industry and has recently appeared in several films and television series. Some of these include Creepshow (2019) Ice Cream in the Cupboard (2019), Gate of Darkness (2019), MacGyver (2020), Sleep No More (2022), Rebroken (2022), and The Curse Of Wolf Mountain (2023).
Aside from his career in the industry, the father of two sons also shares an interest in sports and music. He has coached Flagball and Little League Baseball. The latter is a Pennsylvania-based nonprofit organization concerned with local youth baseball and softball. Also, Tobin plays the guitar during his free time.
He Will be Reprising his Role as Jigsaw Killer John Kramer in the Next Saw Film
If you are a fan of Tobin Bell then it is most likely that you have seen him in the American horror film, Saw. He was cast as the serial killer, Jigsaw, and over the years he has appeared in eight of the nine sequels. In 2022, the news made waves that Tobin had closed a deal with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures to reprise his role in the 10th installment of the franchise Saw X which is set to release in October 2023.
While this would mark the actor’s 9th appearance in the film, fans of the movie were not so excited about the news and even described his reprise as “flogging a dead horse” according to Hollywood Reporter. This is so because his character Jigsaw died back in Saw 3 and has only appeared in flashbacks throughout the years. Although dragging him back after this year doesnt sit well, the producers of the franchise Oren Koules and Mark Burg describe his return as thrilling.
“What a thrill to be reuniting with Tobin. His performance as John Kramer is part of the magic that made this franchise a phenomenon and his character is an active part of this film.”
Unsurprisingly, Saw is Tobin’s most recognized role in his professional journey and it is considered as one of the highest-grossing horror franchises ever made.
