Timothée Chalamet, the acclaimed French-American actor and film producer, recently stole the show at the late-night live sketch comedy variety show, Saturday Night Live.
The beloved actor made his presence felt and made a major impact on Saturday Night Live this week, taking on the dual roles of host and musical guest.
The Oscar-nominated actor, who was hosting Saturday Night Live for the third time, brought his trademark charm and humor to the stage, playfully talking about his Hollywood journey and joking about his elusive Oscar win and his much-debated facial hair.
As host of the show, the actor decided to poke some fun at himself, leaning into self-deprecating humor and echoing the jokes that were made about him at the 2025 Golden Globes. Chalamet even joked about his new facial hair, saying, “This is my third time hosting Saturday Night Live, but my first time doing it with a little stache and goatee.” As the camera zoomed in, he quipped, “Yeah, that’s 37 hairs right there,” according to The New York Post.
Timothée Chalamet then humorously reflected on his recurring losses at award shows, talking about how he always fell short whenever he got nominated for any awards. He said: “I just keep losing, and each time, it gets harder to pretend it doesn’t sting.”
His hilarious comment was followed by a montage of his facial reactions as presenters announced competitors like Gary Oldman and Mahershala Ali as winners, drawing laughs from the audience.
The actor attempted to rehearse his own acceptance speech, but when the mock award was presented, it unexpectedly went to SNL cast member Kenan Thompson—echoing Chalamet’s own experiences at real award shows. Thompson, ever the pro, had come prepared with his own acceptance speech.
Shortly before his performance, the actor teased that the Bob Dylan songs he would be performing on the show might not be the singer’s most popular, but rather his personal favorites. He joked, “Either SNL is being really nice letting me do this, or this is a huge prank.”
To deliver his first musical performance, Timothée Chalamet was introduced by famous actor, Adam Sandler. And, true to his word, he performed a set of Bob Dylan’s lesser-known tracks, starting with a soulful rendition of “Three Angels” and followed by “Outlaw Blues.” Later, the actor displayed his emotional range with a haunting performance of Dylan’s “Tomorrow is a Long Time.”
