It was on 5th August 1985 that Tarryn Lamb was born to a teacher and navy man in a fishing community. She had her earliest life living in a small fishing community on the Cape Peninsula.
Educationally, she attended the Waterfront Theatre School where she studied musical performance.

Lamb always knew she had a talent in music and was ready to build it in ways she could. Hence, in 2002, she became part of Idols South Africa as a performer who was one of the top 50 contestants. Her being part of the music talent show was cut short when she was evicted.
With Enthusiasm, she became part of two different music bands. Unfortunately did not live to see the light of the day.
After the failure of her last group La Vuvuzela, another band BlackByrd was created following an ad that led her to meet Tamsyn Maker and Axene Prinsloo. Before then, however, she took a job of becoming a restaurant singer whose performances were mostly at night every week.
With the band that was created in 2012, she saw her rise to fame as the frontman of the pop music group and has been signed to EMI. She has also written a great number of songs for the band. Aside from music, Lamb is talented in acting and started the career gracing different stages before making it to the big screen. In the 2010 released film ‘I Now Pronounce You Black and White’, Lamb played the role of Tanya Amos alongside Tyrel Meyer, Astara Mwakalumbwa, Ian Roberts, and Sylvia Mdunyelwa among many other actors. Prior to that, she had roles in Binnerlanders and Suidooster. Also in the 2017 released DanZ, she had another role to add to the number of her works as an actor.
In 2018, she won the SAFTAS for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Soap/Telenovela.

Lamb is a very private person who has kept many details about her love life away from the lens. Nevertheless, it has been gathered she was formerly married to South Africa’s entrepreneur Mario Thompson, a man she met at the restaurant she used to work as a singer.
