Sydney Mikayla- Everything Interesting About The ‘General Hospital’ Star

Sydney Mikayla is best known for her role in the ABC daytime soap opera General Hospital. The American actress has appeared in quite a couple of Hollywood movies and she has found fame as a voice actor as well.

Mikayla got her acting skills and talent from her mother who is an actor herself. She was enrolled in acting classes at the tender age of five. Her incredible talent makes her stand out among her peers and has garnered her a few awards including Young Artist Award.

Who is Sydney Mikayla?

Sydney Mikayla Sheperd is the daughter of Sonya and Derek Sheperd. She was born on February 1, 2003, in Southern California. She is an only child and she was raised in Southern California. The actress has a dog pet she calls Champ.

Her mother enrolled her in acting classes and Mikayla continued training at Amazing Grace Conservatory with Wendy Raquel Robinson and also Debbie Allen’s Dance Academy.

The teen star later started home-schooling because of her work schedule.

Sydney Mikayla’s Acting career

Mikayla has featured in both movies and TV shows. She started when she guest-starred in a two-part episode of Game Shakers before she later got a voice role on The Loud House and also School of Rock.

Even though her mother enrolled her in acting classes, she did not force her to choose acting as a career since she was one herself. Sydney Mikayla’s got her earlier roles in her favorite childhood television show, Yo Gabba Gabba! and also an episode of the daytime soap opera, Days of our Lives.

Mikayla was booked for her first credited role in the television film titled Little in Common in 2011. In 2013, she got a role in the lifetime biopic as a young Gabby Douglas.

She gained fame after The Gabby Douglas Story was successful. She later got roles in movie episodes of Instant Mom, Teachers, Game Shakers and, Fuller House, and a few others.

Sydney Mikayla face some challenges booking roles because she was tall for her age and at that time she nurtured and groomed herself for her future roles. She later joined the cast of General Hospital in the recurring role of Trina Robinson in late 2018.

She was also offered a contract with the series a few months after she made her debut in February 2019. As a voice actor, Sydney Mikayla has had voiced characters in episodes of the animated series, The Loud House and also We Bare Bears. She is also among the voiced characters in the Netflix series Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts as Wolf in 2018.

How Sydney Mikayla manages her education and career

There are reports that Sydney Mikayla had difficulty balancing her acting schedule and her studies. The actress decided to take a step back and concentrate on her studies for now.

This means the character she plays in General Hospital might not appear more like before. The teen star has now decided to attend the University of California, Los Angeles.

The 22 year-old actress revealed that even though her status in General Hospital which is a series has changed, the character she is playing will remain inactive. She is expected to graduate as part of UCLA’s class of 2025and then focus on her career.
