Susanna is the daughter of Barry Raid, a management consultant, and Sue Smith, a nurse. Her early life can be traced to Croydon, South London, where she grew up with her parents and siblings. The presenter is the third child born to her parents on December 10, 1970.
She began her primary education at the Croham Hurst School and then moved to the Croydon high school. When her parents relocated to London, Susanna was transferred to St Paul’s Girls School In London to complete her high school education. Thereafter, she went to the University of Bristol to Study Polities and Philosophy which saw her become an editor of the student newspaper, Epigram.
Susanna’s love for journalism saw her gain a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism at Cardiff University.

Susanna Reid’s career began when she was still a student at Briston University. She was employed as a news presenter on BBC Radio Bristol in 1994 and after two years, she became a reporter and presenter for Radio 5 Live.
After five years, she was employed by BBC News 24 as a reporter before assuming the position of a presenter following the absence of her colleague. After a few years, she became a host of the BBC Breakfast where she captured the hearts of her viewers.

She Battled a Hearing Condition For almost Two Decades
In 2015, the Presenter revealed that she was diagnosed with a hearing condition medically called Tinnitus. According to her, the condition deprives her of silence as she endures constant ringing or buzzing in her ears.
She was first diagnosed with the condition sometime in 2004 after the birth of her third son Finn and had to rely on medications to feel better since it’s not curable.
Susanna made it known that she could have become a victim of the disease following her difficult labor when she was having her third son. She has also linked it to her frequent exposure to loud music.
