1. Stunna Gambino was Forced into Rapping
From a young age, Stunna Gambino began to do music and write rap songs. He was forced by his older brother who was also into rap at the time. According to the young rapper, his brother wouldn’t let him sleep until he does at least a rap verse.
Stunna however began to write rap when he was about 9 and by the age of 13, he became quite engrossed in it. This was at about the same time his older brother was also invested in the genre of music.
However, he began to take it more seriously when nobody forced him any longer. He started going to studios and recording during his free time and at that point, Gambino knew he wanted to do rap as a career.
Now, he has overtaken his elder brother in the business and is doing quite well for himself.

Not much has been revealed about Stunna’s family members. Taking pieces of information from several interviews, he does have a close-knit family. Gambino stated that he shares his music with his sisters and shares his excitement with his mother too.
He has an older brother and is quite close to his brother and father since his childhood. He has however not revealed the names of any of his family members.
Stunna Gambino’s mother is Spanish and a fan of his although she doesn’t know much about American music.
3. Gambino isn’t of White Ethnicity
Although he grew up in Washington Heights, he isn’t totally of the White American ethnicity. Stunna has revealed that he is of the Dominican-Caribbean ethnicity. Some other notable Dominican rappers include El Alfa, Lapiz Conciente, Black Point, and Tokischa.

4. His Big Break came about through Features
Despite garnering a lot of fans and listeners of his sounds on streaming platforms, Stunna Gambino did not get his big break until some features. One of such features was on The Kid LAROI’s hit song titled ‘Not Sober’.
Kid Laroi is signed to the ‘Grade A’ label and the song shone a light on Stunna’s musical prowess. Prior to this, though, Stunna had released a lot of songs on Soundcloud in 2017 and by 2018, Gambino put out an EP titled ‘Hood Files’. In 2019, the ‘Underrated’ album was released.
Similarly, he gained fame amongst Canadians when he was featured in Dre Prada’s EP. Dre Prada is a Toronto-based artist and on his ‘Prada Everything’ EP, track 7, he featured Stunna Gambino.

The ‘Rockstar from the Trenches’ star stated that he had a couple of ‘this is the time’ moments from the start of his journey to becoming a music star. One of the very firsts was when he was 14 years old and had about a hundred thousand streams on his song.
After the third time, he realized he had to do this because he was pretty good at it. Also, given that a lot of praises had gotten to him, he decided to go along with his passion.
Stunna knew the work had started paying off when Rihanna posted a video of herself on her Instagram story and his song was playing in the background. He was really excited given that she is one person he likes a lot.
6. How his Stage name Came to be
Stunna Gambino got his stage name from the words ‘Stunna’ and ‘Gambino’. Growing up, he was always dressed fine and fly all thanks to his dad. Stunna’s dad used to work at Bloomindale and so he hooked his son up with fly, stunning clothes.
As a result of this, he got the nickname ‘Lil Stunna’, however, as he got older, he did not like the ‘Lil’ so he opted for just ‘Stunna’.
With his fascination for the Italian crime family, ‘Gambino’, he also adopted the name. Gambino had always been intrigued by mafia mobsters and so this influenced the choice of stage name.
7. He Doesn’t See Himself as a Star yet
One of the things Stunna listed that would get him to his ‘aha I have made it’ moment was getting a plaque. The rap artist whose career started making a non-stop rise since 2019 still feels underrated.
Stating that despite having money, cars, and pieces of jewelry, he wasn’t quite where he wants to be yet. In addition to being an award recipient, he also wants to own his own properties in houses.
Gambino claims that none of the fame and popularity has gotten to him yet despite all he has achieved. He stated this as he tried not to be ungrateful for how far he has come in life. However, he believes in working harder and would not stop until he does that one thing that would make him believe he is made in life.
8. He is a Businessman
Stunna Gambino is business-minded as he took his hobbies and decided to make a living off them. Asides from music, he has an interest in dealing with collectibles as he has always had a passion for toys.
Gambino stated that upon the birth of his business, he doesn’t want to just venture into clothes. Broadening his scope, he plans on creating merches as well as collectibles and art. Worthy of note is the fact that Stunna Gambino has always been a fan of art and toys.
Before music, he used to do artwork and still considers that to be one of his hugest hobbies. Therefore, the ‘Demons’ star plans to take his hobbies and make money off them.
9. Stunna Gambino Stopped Doing Drugs
During an Interview, Stunna admitted that he had quit drugs. He said he used to before but has chosen to stay sober. Further explaining his stance, he said he doesn’t need the high to get motivation or inspiration to work or write songs.
He also included this as a lyrics in his song ‘Rockstar from the Trenches.’ In the song, Stunna said, “I’m on a different type of high, I don’t need drugs.” Unlike other artists who get motivated by doing drugs, Gambino’s creative process is aided more when he is sober. Now, the Washington Heights native only smokes hookers and doesn’t do drugs anymore.
10. Is Stunna Gambino in a Relationship?
On his Instagram page, Stunna posted a photo of him and a young lady on the 27th of July 2021. The photo was captioned ‘Bonnie and Kylde’ with heart emojis following and then an ‘RL2021’ hashtag.
This post was enough reason to believe that he is dating the untagged lady in the photo. Nonetheless, she seems to go by the name ‘Chanel’ and they have purportedly been dating since August of 2020. It was reported that they celebrated their first anniversary flying over New York City in a helicopter on the 2nd of August 2021.

11. Stunna Gambino sold out his First SOB Performance
Though Gambino still feels underrated, he sold out his first performance at the SOB. He performed tracks such as ‘Switch Sides’ and ‘Hype’.
At the Rolling Loud Miami 2021 show, while performing, Gambino called up to the stage, his family. He later admitted that seeing them happy makes him happy. He is always motivated by them to do and be better.
Stunna is happy that his loved ones are all available to witness his rise to fame.
12. He is a Philanthropist
As a means of giving back to his society, Washington Height’s Stunna Gambino organized a thanksgiving in November of 2020. During thanksgiving, the rap artist fed over a hundred people. Showing that he still is firmly rooted in his hometown, he felt the need to celebrate Thanksgiving with about 140 needy people.
