Steve Noel Wariner was born on 25 December 1954 to Roy and Ilene. He is from Noblesville, Indiana but grew up in Kentucky.
He has four siblings; Terry, David, Barbara, and Kenny.
At a young age he taught himself how to play different instruments, he started performing in his father’s band where he met some great acts.
He got married to Caryn in 1987 and is blessed with two sons Ross and Ryan.

At the age of 17, He was invited to play in Dottie West’s road band after she heard him play the bass guitar. He joined them and had to complete schooling through a correspondence program.

In 1989, Steve Wariner came into contact with a fan called Linda Shin, she claimed she needed help with her son who was terminally ill with cancer. A backstage meet and greet were arranged.
However, she took it far when she kept writing him and even flying to see him, she posted online with biased undertones of having an affair with him. It was later discovered that her son was never diagnosed with the disease.
In 2013, while preparing for a concert in Texas, he got a restraining order to keep Linda shin away from him since she is from Texas.
