Selena Gomez, the world-famous American actress, singer, producer, and businesswoman, recently broke down in tears and posted the video of herself crying online.
The actress posted a video in which she was seen breaking down in tears over Donald Trump‘s immigration crackdown.
However, the 32-year-old American singer and actress, has now deleted the video from her Instagram page after receiving severe backlash from several people.
In the video, Selena Gomez who is also of Mexican heritage, appeared to be reacting to US President, Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown, which has seen many illegal immigrants deported from the USA.
The president has vowed to carry out the largest deportation effort in U.S. history. On Friday, the White House released images of men in shackles boarding a military plane, accompanied by the caption: “Deportation flights have begun.”
In the now deleted Instagram video, which she posted on Monday, Selena Gomez was seen speaking through her tears. She said: “I just want to say that I’m so sorry. All my people are getting attacked.
“The children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry I wish I could do something but I can’t.
“I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.”
However, the actress was soon faced with a lot of backlash after posting he video on Instagram. Eventually, after receiving the huge backlash online, she deleted the video.
She then made another post on her Instagram story which read: “Apparently it’s not ok to show empathy for people.”
But, that post has now been deleted also.
One of the people who criticized Selena Gomez was Sam Parker, a Republican US Senate candidate, who said she should “be deported” on X.
The actress later appeared to respond on her Instagram story, writing: “Oh Mr Parker, Mr Parker. Thanks for the laugh and the threat.”
Gomez recently starred in the Oscar-nominated Spanish-language musical Emilia Perez, playing one of four Mexican women involved with a cartel.
