Scott Arceneaux Jr., better known as Suicide Christ or Scrim, is an American punk rapper, songwriter, DJ, producer, and member of the rap duo Suicideboys.

His music career started in 2014 as a member of Suicideboys alongside his cousin, Ruby da Cherry whose real name is Aristos Norman Petrou.

As much fame as claimed through his music career, Scot Arceneaux Jr. has also attracted attention with his looks. He has piercings, tattoos on his face and other body parts, and metallic teeth.

His hairstyles also range from dreadlocks, as well as a mix of brunette and blonde hair over the years.

Still in his career, his lyrical content has been described as aggressive and evil. The description which has also been given on his band’s themes, images and even behaviours depict him in a negative way.

The star, however, sees the use of what society perceives as negativity or evil in his content as a metonym for the effects of money, drugs, and other items that can manipulate people.

The punk rapper was born on April 11, 1989, to his parents, Scott and Toni Arceneaux in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. He had his early life in New Orleans with his siblings among which was Gage Arceneaux.

He started listening to rap from popular rappers like U.N.L.V and Three 6 Mafia while he was with his uncle at the age of 8, later on, he became obsessed with the compositions.

At present, he performs with Suicideboys and as a solo artist. In all, he has over 50 recordings credited to him. These include singles, EPs, and albums. Some of his most notable works are Radical Suicide, Black Suicide (2015), Grey Sheep (2016), Live Fast, Die Whenever (2019 with Travis Baker).

Many other works include Kill Yourself (Parts I-XX), Paris, Now The Moon’s Rising, I Want To Die In New Orleans, and NEW PROFILE PIC among others.

He has attributed the success of transforming Suicideboys from a simple garage band to a professional punk rap band.

1. Scott Arceneaux Jr. Started His Music Career As A DJ At The Age Of 13

Scrim began working as a DJ at the age of 13 and became quite popular before he later started hosting mixtapes for local rappers. He eventually produced his own music at the age of 19.

2. His First Turntable Set Was A Gift From His Parents

When his interest in songwriting and DJ-ing kept growing,  his parents gave him a turntable set which made him rehearse more. They got it for him as a Christmas present.

Scott Arceneaux Jr. sold drugs at a point in his life. He used the proceeds of the drugs to buy his first laptop.

4. He Worked As A Furniture Man Before Fame

Suicide Christ worked as a furniture salesman for up to three years before his fame and giving his complete attention to his music career.

However, he was fired for his getting tattoos on his hands.

He used craigslist as an avenue to get people to rob.

Although he stopped robbing people earlier, Scrim didn’t get sober in his drug addiction until 2017.

Lil Wayne had a huge influence on Suicide Christ. The first Wayne’s song that hit him was ‘The Block is Hard’. It was as regards this influence that he started taking some pills because he saw the artist doing the same.

He had his break when his cousin, Ruby da Cherry whose real name is Aristos Petrou asked him to work on creating their rap band. The cousins formed the Suicideboys duo band and Arceneaux Jr. later created more raps that were the mainstream for their forceful lyrics.

The cousins had a very close relationship while they were growing up so since they both had an interest in music they formed the duo band agreeing that if their musical career did not work, they would commit suicide.

Suicideboys signed a contract with G59 Records and they released a 21 part series, ‘Kill Yourself’. They later released several EPs from 2014 to 2017.

The name Suicideboys became a very popular name in the rap arena. The duo began to perform live and also at many international shows.

A year after their career kicked off, 3 of their singles were certified gold by RIAA. In 2017 and 2018, 2nd Hand and Carrollton have also certified an RIAA Gold respectively.

Their song ‘Radical Suicide made it to different charts in the United States. Also, their 2018 released album I Want To Die became a hit in the U.S, Australia, Canada, and Germany among other countries. It also made it to the charts peaking different positions in many countries.

The duo is one of the most popular acts in underground rap and has a large cult following.

The Suicideboys also had many different alter egos which they rapped under. Their alter egos can have different flows, styles of rapping and also lyrical meaning.

11. He Had A Solo Career

Scott Arceneaux jr. released his single featuring his cousin Ruby and it hit a million plays within a week of its release.

Many years after the release of his mixtape Narcotics Anonymous; he released a solo album titled ‘A Man Rose From The Dead’ in 2020. The album contains 20 songs and has received different reactions.

While others praise it for having a new direction and style, others think it is not as appealing as anticipated.

Some of the songs in the album include Scars, Jesus Wept, PTSD, Naloxone, and Nightmare From The Northside.

12. He Discovered Auto-Tune While Attending College

He attended Delgado Community College because of his passion for DJ-ing. While at the college, he was hired to DJ parties. He found out about many artists such as Auto-Tune at that time.

Growing up, he was overwhelmed in rap and his idols were Gucci Mane and Lil Wayne. The suicide Christ became obsessed with the record producer, rapper and lyricist, T-Pain at the age of 19

Juicy J has been considered a mentor to the Suicideboys and gives them his full support. He once enlisted them to produce his mixtapes highly intoxicated and Shutdaf*kup which featured acts like Cardi B, Wiz Khalifa, ASAP Rocky and XXXTentacion.

The suicide Christ has produced tracks for multiple artists such as Denzel Curry, Dash and Juicy J. He also had held an in house deal with universal/republic.

Suicideboys have been accused of copyright infringement twice in their career.

First, it was a Canadian DJ and producer, Deadmau5 who accused the duo of using his song I remember with Kaskade in their Antarctica single without permission.

Even though the song gained massive views on YouTube and SoundCloud, it was removed by Suicideboys after the accusations.

In 2020, Three 6 Mafia dragged SuicideBoys for allegedly copying some of their songs. The Mafia demanded $1.2 million as compensation.

Suicideboys in their defence denied the allegations.

18. Scot Arceneaux Jr. Is Engaged

Many stories suggest that Scrim started dating Tori Miranda in 2018. As of this writing, the couple is engaged.

19. Scott Arceneaux jr. Is Worth More Than $1 Million

Scott has a net worth of $1.5 million. This net worth however is only a speculation. He made his wealth majorly from his music career as a singer and producer.
