The Brazilian super featherweight champion was born on October 25, 1988, in Salvador, Bahia Brazil. He is the only child of his parents and was raised by his mother, Marcia Donato but his grandmother, Neusa Andredonato was their family’s matriarch.
Growing up, Robson Conceicao used to help his grandmother to sell vegetables before he would go to school. After school, he would return to the market or earn extra money by selling popsicles on the beach at Boa Viagem.
Despite growing up in a place where his contemporaries did drugs and joined gangs, Robson chose to remain focused. However, as a teenager, he reportedly got close to his uncle, Roberto who was very famous as a thug. At the age of 13, he was already fighting on the streets.
In other to learn how to fight formally, he joined the Academia Champion which was like 10km from his home so he had to walk to and fro since he could not afford to pay bus fare.

Robson Conceicao Married Érica Matos in 2013
Robson met Conceicao met Érica Matos in 2005 at the Esparto Total. Their relationship became serious in 2008 and in 2011, the boxer decided to propose to Érica during the Pan-American Games. The proposal was live on television and in time, the pair became the first famous Brazilian couple that are both boxers.

As an amateur, the father of two fought the qualifiers for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Although he won all his fights to get an Olympic spot, he sadly lost the opening match against Li Yang.
In 2009, he lost in the first round of the 2009 World Amateur Boxing Championships. Also, he lost his first match yet again in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. He continued to participate in several events with the hope of parting in the 2016 Summer Olympics but he did not. Since he did not turn a professional, he decided to sign with the Brazilian Navy in other to gain the scholarship and training facilities meant for people in the military.
It was while he was in the Navy that he won a silver and bronze medal at two separate tournaments. Following his success in the tournaments, he was guaranteed an Olympic spot. Before he finished his amateur career, Robson made history as the first Brazilian boxer to win an Olympic gold medal.
Robson Conceicao made his professional debut on November 5, 2016, in Las Vegas. He had his first win as one of the undercards in the Manny Pacquiao vs. Jessie Vargas event. After that, he faced Aaron Ely on January 27, 2017, and won by a second-round knockout. That was the first stoppage victory in his career.
In 2019, Conceicao fought thrice winning all his fights against Hector Ambriz Suarez, Sergio Ariel Estrela, and Carlos Ruiz. He then took a 14-month break before he came back and was booked to face Eduardo Pereira dos Reis on August 29, 2020.
On September 23, 2022, the boxer lost the second fight of his career to Ring super featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson.
