The writer was born on February 22, 1964, to Linda Richman and Irving Ruzansky. She was raised alongside her brother, Jordan in Forest Hill. She attended Paramus High School from 1977 to 1981.
While growing up, her father, whose identity has remained unknown worked as an attorney. However, he was allegedly known for his bad gambling habits which made the family suffer. The family later lost everything due to her father’s inability to pay back his gambling debts.

According to reports, Robin’s grandfather was killed by a truck when her mother was just eight. Her grandmother, on the other hand, suffered from severe depression. Having gone through that as a child, Lind Richman, had a lengthy bout of agoraphobia which made her miss Robin’s school plays and parent-teacher nights.
Robin’s mother developed the condition in her early twenties. Due to that, reports say Linda Richman did not leave her apartment for more than eleven years from 1964 to 1975.

While attending an ice hockey game in Chicago, Robin Ruzan came across Mike Myers who caught the hockey puck during the game and used it as an excuse to start up a conversation with her.
The pair started dating afterward and in 1993, they decided to tie the knot on May 22, 1993. Mike Myers and Robin stayed married for more than a decade until December 2005 when they decided to end their 12-year marriage. The divorce was legally finalized on August 9, 2006.
Although the exact reasons for the divorce have not been revealed, there are speculations that the Austin Powers actor wanted children but couldn’t have any with his muse, Robin. Myers became one of the founding members of the Comedy Store Players in London.
