Over time, the iconic British-New Zealand multi-hyphenated entertainer, Richard O’Brien has drawn attention to his love life due to controversial statements about being transgender or a member of the third gender. He was First Married to Kimi Wong
She was born in South Africa in 1949 and became popular through her marriage with Richard O’Briene whose birth name is Richard Timothy Smith. She was the actor and singer’s first wife. A close look at their relationship shows that they tied the knot on December 4, 1971.
Prior, the pair started out as struggling entertainers. Though it’s unclear when they met, some of their earliest works were as the ensemble of Hair, an English musical. After they tied the knot, the pair continued to pursue their careers leading to the formation of a pop group, Kimi and Ritz made up of the duo. They recorded six songs including Merry Christmas Baby and I Was in Love With Danny.
Away from their collaboration, they welcomed a son named Linus in May 1974. As it is, they were able to manage having a young son and pursuing their careers. Reportedly, Richard left Hair and started writing the highly acclaimed The Rocky Horror Show, in which they both appeared in. During that time, the Cheltenham-born actor stayed home to look after their young son while Kimi continued working on the Hair. Richard was married to Jane Moss for Over two Decades
Four years after his first marriage failed, the Flash Gordon actor got married to Jane Moss in 1983. According to IMDB, Moss made a living working as a production manager and an additional crew member. She also traded her craft as a designer on production sets. Considering all this, we can infer that Moss and O’Brien likely met in the course of their work.
Regardless of how they met, their marriage was seemingly without the problems that faced celebrity marriages considering that they were together for more than 20 years. In fact, they welcomed two children bringing O’Brien’s total number of children to three.
Moss gave birth to their son, Joshua in 1983 followed 6 years later with the arrival of a daughter named Amelia. Like his previous marriage, this one also ended in divorce in 2006.
O’Brien’s Last Wife, Sabrina Graf is half his Age
At 83 years old, the Spice World actor is married to 37-year-old Sabrina Graf. Before they made the decision to get married in 2013, Richard and the German native were in a three-year relationship.
Arguably, the relationship is Richard’s most publicized one due to a 35-year age difference between them. Though, we have seen celebrities like Paul Nassif, Steven Tyler, and Al Pacino marry or date women that are far younger, there is usually a frenzy about such relationships. Moving on, Richard and Sabrina knew each other for ten years before they started dating. What stood out for Richard was being with somebody who accepted him for who he is. The Entertainer is a Father of Three Adult Children
As mentioned earlier, Richard is a father of three. He revealed that his children who are all adults accept his roles and do not mind whether he wears a frock or not. The actor recalls that he enjoys being in the lives of his children, unlike his own father who was not as committed.
Unsurprising, the support he gave his children has helped them find their own path. Linus is a Los Angeles-based disc jockey. We also gathered that he is the director of Finding Rocky Horror, a 50th-anniversary feature-length documentary about the Rocky Horror Picture Show as well as its creator, Richard.
On Joshua’s part, he works in a postproduction house and is said to be nerdish. The youngest among Richard’s children, Amelia attended arts college. Hence, it will not be surprising if she has a career in the entertainment industry.
