Queen Elizabeth’s II great-grandchildren are twelve in number at the time of her death on September 8, 2022. She had them from her eight grandchildren. As it is, some of her great-grandchildren like Prince George of Cambridge, the son of Prince William is a step closer to the throne upon King Charles III taking the throne.
Considering the traditions of the English throne, her death as the longest-serving monarch adds to the curiosity about who her great-grandchildren are.
Let’s Meet Queen Elizabeth II Great-Grandchildren
Savannah Phillips
Born on December 29, 2010, she is the oldest great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth. At her birth, she was the twelfth in the line of succession as she was the grandchild of Queen Elizabeth’s II only daughter, Princess Anne. However, with more births in the Royal family, her position has moved down over the years.
Like her, Savannah’s father, Peter Phillips is the oldest of the late monarch’s grandchildren, yet in the succession line, he is far behind as his mother is the 16th in line.
Isla Elizabeth Phillips
She is named after her great-grandmother. Her parents, Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly were married for 12 years before they divorced in 2021. Following this, she is staying with her father in Gloucestershire while her parents co-parent her and her siblings per their divorce agreement.
Noticeably, she and her sister share a cordial relationship despite their parent’s divorce.
Prince George of Cornwall and Cambridge
The 11-years-old is the oldest child of the heir apparent to the British throne, Prince William. As the second in line to the succession of the throne, his birth in 2013 was marked by 21 gun salutes in Bermuda and New Zealand, two among 14 commonwealth countries.
He started his education at the age of two in 2016. Unlike his great-grandmother, who was homeschooled, prince George was enrolled at the Thomas School in Battersea.
As it is, he has accompanied his parents on state visits as part of his royal duties. In a twist of events, his being royalty led to a targeted attack on his school in 2017. Thankfully, the ISIS-identified criminal was arrested and jailed for 25 years.
Mia Grace Tindall
She is the fourth great-grandchild of the deceased queen and the oldest daughter of Zara, the equestrian athlete, and Mike Tindall. When she appeared in a portrait in 2016 holding her great-grandmother’s purse, many speculated that it could have been staged. It turned out that it was a spontaneous moment for the adorable great-grandchild.
She has made appearances with her younger siblings and cousins at different points. As with other Royal Family members, she is on the line of succession to the throne.
Also, she is likely to follow in her mother’s footsteps following her participation in a charity football match in January 2022.
Princess Charlotte of Cambridge
Considering her being the 5th among Queen Elizabeth II’s great-grandchildren, she is the third in the line of succession despite having a younger brother. Like other members of her family, she is not just a media icon.
It is reported that there was a spike in sales when she was born, a situation that is referred to as the ‘Charlotte effect’. Interestingly, it led to different estimates of her contribution to the economy by financial institutions. Some sources estimate a figure as high as £3 billion throughout her life.
Away from the economic value of her being royalty, the 9-year-old is still attending school like her older brother.
Prince Louis of Cambridge
The 6-year-old joined Queen Elizabeth II’s great-grandchild through the union between her grandson, prince William, and Catherine Middleton.
As it is, he is the godson of Guy Pelly, a club owner, Harry Aubrey-Fletcher, Lady Laura Meade, and Lucy Middleton, his mother’s cousin.
Lena Elizabeth Tindall
She is the seventh great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth and the fourth grandchild of Princess Anne. She does not have a title as she is descended from the female daughter of Queen Elizabeth II.
Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor
Unlike other great-grandchildren of the late queen, he was born amidst so much controversy. His parent’s marriage in 2018 caused a stir as Meghan Markle, his mother is a divorcee of African American heritage.
Not only that, Meghan is an American actress who had to switch to the traditional ways of royalty. While his parent’s marriage is not a first for a divorcee, it followed another that happened in 1936. Back then, the king, Edward VIII abdicated the throne to marry a divorced American woman leading to his great-grandmother becoming the queen when her father died.
Following the backlash his parents faced, they stepped back from their royal roles in 2020. Despite this, royal documents like the letters patent have provisions that will enable Archie to be addressed as a prince.
August Phillip Hawke Brooksbank
The (dob=”20210209″]-year-old was born two months before the death of his great grandfather, The Duke of Edinburg during the Covid 19 outbreak.
Even though he is one of the youngest great-grandchildren of Queen Elizabeth II, he is on the line of succession. He was born to Princess Eugenie of York, daughter of Prince Andrew, and Jack Brooksbank, a businessman.
Lucas Phillip Tindall
He is the youngest child of Zara and Mike Tindall. According to the reports, his parents could not make it to the hospital due to his quick delivery on the bathroom floor.
As it is, the 3–year-old made his first public appearance at the platinum jubilee celebration of his great-grandmother in February 2022 to mark her 70 years on the throne. He also made an appearance when his mother competed in the Burnham Market International horse trails in April of the same year.
Also, he does not have a loyal title as his mother did not have one when she was born on May 15, 1981.
Lilibet Diana Mountbatten Windsor
She is the third great-grandchild to be born in the year 2021. Lilibeth which is another alternative to the name Elizabeth was named after her great-grandmother.
Like her older brother, she has both British and American citizenship. Despite her parents stepping aside from the royal family, she is the seventh in line to the British throne.

Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi
As the youngest great-grandchild, her parents, Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have managed to keep her life private. They announced her birth on the Buckingham palace social media account. Unlike other royal births, they have not revealed her face as of this writing.
Queen Elizabeth II’s great-grandchildren are an important part of the British royal family. As one of the longest reigning monarchs in British history, it makes her reign one among the few modern monarchies to have made it this far. Looking at the ages of her great-grandchildren, it is unclear as to who will later ascend the throne in the future even though Prince George is the closest in the line of succession among the twelve.
