The Japanese rock band, Polkadot Stingray has been in existence since it was formed in 2014 but officially started its activities in January 2015. The four-piece Indie rock band was founded in Fukuoka Japan and ever since the band has continued to soar higher. The rock band has released several singles and albums and has also toured in places where they are popular.
Polkadot Stingray is known for its outstanding singles all through Japan and beyond. Even though some of its members have left, the band has toured nation-wide up to like twice between 2014-2017 to promote their albums and that has helped them gained more fans. The Japanese rock band is signed under the record label, Universal Sigma.

Details About the Polkadot Stingray Band Members
- Shizuku: Shizuku whose real name is Hayashida Shizuku is a Japanese singer who was born in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan on October 15, 1992. she is in charge of the guitar and vocals in Polkadot Stingray. She writes the lyrics and composition for Polkadot Stingray’s songs. Shizuku is a graduate and she studied in England for a year before returned to Japan and decided to start the band. She has held auditions on Twitter and other notable platforms. It was reported that Shizuku wanted to become a model in the past before she settled for a career in music.
- Harushi Ejima: Harushi Ejima is a Japanese guitarist born in Fukuoka, Japan on August 22, 1995. He is also in charge of the guitar in the band. He joined the band before they released their first single Gokusai on June 13 that same year.
- Yuki Uemura: The talented 27-year old Japanese bassist is a member of the Polkadot Stingray band. He has been active since the band’s conception in 2014.
- Kazuma Mitsuyasu: Kazuma Mitsuyasu has been active in the band since 2014 as the drummer. Just like almost all the band members, he was born in Japan on 27 June 1992.
- Muro: Muro is a former member of the band. He was with the rock band from 2014-2015. He formed the band alongside Shizuku, Mitsuyasu and Kazuma. He left the band on May 10, 2015, after the band released their limited single “Yoake No orange.”

The band has a mascot called Hannaki Bibi.
The black Norwegian cat wears a red bow tie and has a tear on one eye. The band considers the cat its good luck charm and it can be seen in the band’s logo, merch, discography and it also has its own game on their website called Bibi ba Shiri Yaru.

The band’s songs were used in films and they performed in an anime series
Their leading track Ichidaji was used as the theme song to the live-action film adaptation of “Missions of Love” in 2018 and later that same year, Polkadot Stingray announced that the song “Himitsu” would be used for another film “Smartphone So Otoshita Dake Nano Ni”.
The band is set to perform the ending theme to the anime series Radiant performing the song “Radiant”.

The defunct member Muro was a pioneer
The band was coined by vocalist and guitarist Shizuku, guitarist Muro and drummer Kazuma Mitsuyasu in April 2014. Yuki Uemura later joined the band as the bassist in November that same year.

Polkadot Stingray had its major hit in September 2016
When the band released their first digital single “Telecaster Stripe” on March 4th, 2016, the music video gained 1 million likes in September.

Polkadot Stingray has been on nationwide tours
Polkadot Stingray embarked on their first nationwide tour in July 2017, stopping at six different cities. They had their second tour in 2018.
