Peter Marshall, the legendary American entertainer, has been married three times. His first marriage to Nadene R. Teaford in 1947 ended in divorce after 26 years. The second marriage to Marya Carter lasted only a few years. Despite two failed marriages, Peter gave love another chance and married his current wife, Laurie Marshall, in 1989.
Marshall has achieved fame in various fields since childhood, including hosting game shows and working as an actor and singer. Unsurprisingly, he shares some of his passions with his wives. His ex-wife Nadene was an actress, and the pair was quite the romantic item during their 26-year marriage, which produced four children. Like Nadene, Marshall’s second wife was also an entertainer who is notable for her acting roles and her appearance as a playboy playmate. Peter Marshall’s current wife was an air hostess.
Nadene R. Teaford was Married to Marshall for 26 Years
Nadene married Marshall in 1947, two years after World War Two ended. Considering that the world was recovering from the great disaster, Nadene and Marshall found a way of managing a love life as well as a career. By 1969, they had become favorites among entertainment fans as they shared the screen in It Takes Two. Aside from this credited role, Nadene remained in the background while Marshall continued to expand his career. During the marriage, he notably took roles on the Lucy Show and hosted game shows.
Despite managing to stay away from scandal, the marriage hit rock bottom in 1973 when they divorced. Like many celebrity divorces, the pair never divulged the details.
They Welcomed Four Children During The Marriage
Nadene and Marshall had four children: Pete LaCock, Suzanne LaCock, David laCock, and Jaime LaCock. Looking at the surname his children use, one would easily find that Marshall was born Ralph PierreLaCock but later adopted the stage name Peter Marshall
From what we gathered about Marshall’s children, they all followed their career footpaths. Notably, his son Pete LaCock (72) was successful as a Major League baseball player before he switched to coaching. Pete played for teams like the Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Royals as an active player.
Focusing on Marshall’s relationship with his children, he is known to speak so highly of how his children take care of him. Shockingly, it was quite tragic when he lost one, David LaCock, who died from COVID-19 in 2021 at the age of 68, leaving behind 8 children. At the time, Marshall also contacted the disease. Speaking on his battle with COVID, Marshall did not know that he would survive the pandemic.
Marya Carter and the Game Show Host’s Marriage was the Shortest
Following the collapse of Marshall’s second marriage, he moved on with his life by marrying Marya Carter, a former playboy model and actress. They tied the knot in 1977 and divorced in 1983.
Despite their failed marriage, Marya enjoyed popularity due to her career exploits. She is credited with acting roles in works like The Phantom Planet(1961), The Red Pony(1973), and The Rookies(1973-76). Also, she owes her fame to her appearance as a Playboy model.
Years after the marriage ended, Marshall explained that if he were to undo anything, it would be his second marriage. In his words, his second marriage ‘…was for an hour and a half, I would not do that again’.

Laurie Marshall has Been Married to Peter Marshall for Over 35
Marshal’s current wife, Laurie Marshall, was born Laurie Stewart sometime in 1965, thus making her 63 years old at the moment. Laurie and Peter first met in 1989 when she was working at Trans Wowhen. Then he was 60 years old while she was 25.
Despite the vast age gap, she absolutely stole his heart the moment he set his eyes on her. As the actor recounts, they were seated together in the first-class cabin of a Trans-Atlantic flight where she worked. Initially, she made the assumption that he was gay due to his role in La Cage aux Folles. However, fate intervened and they were married in 1979. Marshall never had any doubts that Laurie was the love of his life, and he never regretted their marriage.
Regardless of their 35-year age difference, it hasn’t stopped them from becoming one of the most famous celebrity couples. Others include Paul Nassif and Brittany Nassif, Sean Penn and Leila George, Mel Gibson and Rosalind Ross, and Dennis Quiad and Laura Savoie.
