The Australian singer, songwriter, producer, and record executive, Peter Andrew Furler is better known as the co-founder and former lead vocalist of the Christian rock band Newsboys.
He formed the Newsboys with his friends George Perdikis, Sean Taylor, and John James IN 1985. He later left his friends and started his own solo career in 2009. But he occasionally appears with the band in some of their shows and tours.

Peter Furler got married to Summer Andrea LeFevre, the daughter of the famous musician Mylon LeFevre on March 12, 1991. They met at a bible study in Atlanta, Georgia while he was visiting the USA on tour with his band.
The couple has been married for close to 18 years now but they don’t have any children yet. Furler shared in an interview that they would love to have children but that hasn’t happened yet. He praises his wife for being very understanding and loving despite his tight schedule.

He discovered his love for music at a very tender age. He started when he was in high school when started his own band with his friends. He had his first break during his sister’s 16th birthday party where the band played for the very first time.

Furler wrote and produced most of Newboys’ songs. He also produced and write for others as well. After the lead singer John James left, Furler became the lead singer for the band in 1997.
In 1999 he joined Dale Bray and Wes Campbell to form Inpop Records. In 2010he became Steve Taylor’s drummer in his new band called Steve Taylor & the Perfect Foil. He also played for former Newsboy Phil Joel’s album deliberatekids2.
Peter Furler then formed his band Peter Furler in 2012. He formed the band together with Dave Ghazarian and Jeff Irizarry. The band released an album on March 11, 2014. Furler later collaborated with pianist and guitarist David Ian to release his first Christmas album on 7 October 2014.
In 2017, Furler worked with his former band Newsboys and it was his first involvement in the band since he left in 2009. In 2018, peter Furler toured with Newsboys and they recorded the album, United which was released in 2019. Even though Furler left the band, he was still the band’s primary songwriter and producer.
Peter Furler has been working on his music and has been touring and performing at shows as well. He has sold over 7 million records and has 27 No.1 hit singles. Furler currently tours with Newsboys United.
