It is often sad and unfortunate when two people that share the same bloodline engage in a feud that leads to death. Whenever such incidents occur accusing fingers point in varying degrees. But, no matter what is done, the dead relative can never come back, for it is all water under the bridge.
Ever since Nancy Motes drowns in a bath as a result of a drug overdose in Los Angele, many fingers point toward her sister Julia Roberts. The deceased pens down a suicide note in which she blames her sister for bullying and driving her into depression.
Nancy’s fiance who was making plans to walk down the aisle with her before the suicide holds Julia responsible for pushing his fiancee to her grave.
Who Is Nancy Motes?
She was born on 19th May 1976 to her parents Betty Lou Bredemus and Michael Motes in the United States. The deceased shares the same mother but a different father with famous Hollywood actress Julia Roberts, Lisa Roberts Gillan, and Eric Roberts.
While Nancy wasn’t popular like her other siblings, she manages to become a dog trainer. In fact, one of her dogs Zelda appears in a couple of movies in Atlanta.
Initially, when Julia left home in Smyrna, Georgia to pursue her career in Hollywood, Nancy was there taking care of their mother. But, she and her mother move to Los Angeles to be closer to John Dilbeck.
And while there, she begins to look for film work. She finally secures one as a production Assistant with the hit TV show Glee.

How The Trouble Began
According to reports, there is an indication that the feud between the two sisters starts when Nancy Motes relocates to Los Angeles with their mother. John reveals that Julia was always giving his fiancee hell. She often feels that her sister is their mother’s favorite. He says money and fame couldn’t change that.
Initially, the plan was for Nancy and her mother to live together. However, it didn’t happen because Julia had already secured a house for Betty by the time they got to Los Angeles. Unfortunately, there was no space for Nancy in the house.
John claims that for two years, Julia didn’t allow Nancy to see their mother. She feels her sister had her own time with their mother, now it is her turn.
Meanwhile, Julia admits in a 2017 interview that she was difficult in her younger days. Her priority was going around and making movies. It means everything was just about herself.
Why Everybody Blames Julia Roberts For Nancy Motes’s Death
The dog trainer died at the age of 37 on 9th February 2014. She dies following a drug overdose in Los Angeles, California. Some nonprescription and prescription pills were found in the bath where she drowned.
Before papping the pills, she wrote a suicide note in which she blames her sister for bullying her. The note reads “my so-called siblings get nothing except the memory that they are the ones that drove me into the deepest depression I’ve been in.”
When she died, John openly lies the blame on the Hollywood star for browbeating and despoiling her sister. Earlier before her purported suicide, the deceased reveals in an interview with claims that she’s been ridiculed by Julia for being overweight.
In John’s first full interview since the death of Nancy, he still points the finger at Julia. He went on to allege she has never commemorated the anniversary of her sister’s death. And neither has she eulogized her apart from saying the family were “heartbroken” at the time.
From the above, Nancy accuses her half-sister of tormenting her life. John on the other hand says they treated her with disdain because she wasn’t rich like them.
Nancy Motes Begs John For Forgiveness
According to reports, Nancy’s side notes contain 3 sections. There is one for her mother and sister, one for John, and another for everyone. The one addressed to John sees the deceased raining praises on him as her “one true love”. She says she was not worthy of his affections.
She asks him to forgive her, that she is “nothing but a junky”. And he is better off without her in his life. She went on to state that she knows this will affect him the most and she can’t apologize enough. Similarly, she didn’t forget to express how blessed and lucky she was for having him as her true love and best friend.
