The death of Requiem in White gothic rock band in 1995 with members such as Eric Hammer, Lisa Houle Hammer, Christopher Walsh, and Javier Madariaga gave rise to the birth of another gothic rock band, Mors Syphilitica which was formed in 1995 and met its end in 2002.
Mors Syphilitica was an American band involving a husband and wife. The band transitioned from a rock band with only a few listeners to a band with a wide range of acceptance across many shores. Their music has at many times been described as original, having quality, the use of not so common instruments of mandolin and banjo, as well as lyrics that is also not very frequent. Of the many singles and albums made by the band include My Virgin Widows, Whispers in the House of Truth, Fountain of Tears, Mors Syphilitica 12-inch single, Primrose and Feather and Fate.

As aforementioned, Mors Syphilitica was formed in New York by Doc Hammer and Lisa Hammer in 1995 following the disbandment of their 1985 founded group Requiem in White which was a cult underground band
Although the band started out as The Order of The N.C.S. and released a CD, it soon adopted Mors Syphilitica.

It was on February 2, 1967, that Doc was born as Eric Hammer in Ledyard, Connecticut. Even though he is widely known as a musician, his talents in acting, voicing, painting, and writing have further added to his popularity.
Musically, Doc is linked to singing, songwriting, and the ability to play the guitar. Likewise, he is also notable for being part of many songs including composing the music for the 1997 film A, B, C… Manhattan. In films and writing on the other hand, he’s actively participated as an actor in the 1989 film Not Farewell, Sweet Flesh, and Pox in 2011 among a host of others.
Writing has been a huge part of the things Doc has laid his hands on. His works include writing the 1999 film Crawly, writer of 34 episodes of The Venture Bros. (2004-2020), and the co-author of Go Team Venture! The Art And Making Of The Venture Bros. with Christopher McCulloch, and Kenneth Plume.
Lisa Hammer – Biography and Career
Lisa Hammer was born Lisa Houle on April 4, 1967, in Salem, Massachusetts. She rose to prominence for taking part in the entertainment industry as an actress, filmmaker, composer and singer.
Regarding music, Lisa has been actively involved since the 1980s where she became the lead singer of Requiem in White and later Mors Syphilitica.
Having graduated with a BS in film from the Emerson College, Lisa has created a space for herself as an actress, writer, director, and producer who featured in Pox (2011), The Venture Bros. (2003-2018), and The Sisters Plotz (2015) among others.
All You Need To Know About The Career Of Mors Syphilitica
The birth of Mors Syphilitica gave rise to a new career for Lisa and Doc who founded the group. Although their start in the music industry through the group started slow, it fast became a sort after the gothic rock band.
The band in 1996 released its first but limited edition vinyl 12” single with only 300 copies. Because it was a limited edition, it became a collectors’ item. Furthermore, the band released other albums including the ‘Mors Syphilitica’ in 1996, Primrose in 1998, and Feather and Fate in 2001. Also, their songs and albums were distributed by Sacrum Torch and Projekt Records.
Even though it has not been confirmed why Mors Syphilitica became disbanded, the band members went their separate ways in music in 2002, a year after their last album and after having a successful career for 7 years.

Where Are The Former Members Of Mors Syphilitica Now?
Since the disbandment of the band, the former couple has led different lives as regards music. However, both Lisa and Doc are still active in music and filmmaking.
In 2008, Doc founded another rock band ‘Weep’ which includes Fred Macaraeg, Alex Dziena and Bill Kovalcik. The band is has released a number of songs, EP, and albums which include Never Ever, Worn Thin (a 2010 album), and a self-titled album in 2014.
Also, Lisa has availed herself to creating a band – The Terror Twins with her brother James Merendino who is widely known as a pianist, composer, and filmmaker and director of SLC Punk.
Regarding their personal lives, Lisa has moved on to become married to Levi Wilson, an actor, and producer known for Maybe Sunshine (2015), and Invisible Alice (2016). The married became married in 2009, a year after Lisa and Doc’s marriage crashed.
