John Gulager is the oldest of Clu Glager’s kids, born John Thompson Gulager on 19th December 1957 in New York. His father’s career was just taking off when he was born. It was during this period that his father made his first major appearance on the Western TV series Have Gun- Will Travel (1957-1963). His mother on the hand was yet to land a role until the mid-1970s.
The 66 year-old grew up to develop an interest in his parents’ acting career. Interestingly, he didn’t stick to acting alone, he ventured into directing and cinematography.
He made his acting debut at 12 when he appeared in A Day With The Boys (1967) which was directed by his father. While his first TV appearance was in New Wave Thearter (1980). In 1999, he played the role of Santa Claus in Palmer’s Pick Up alongside his brother Tom.
John did his work as a cinematographer in The Poet Writes His Wife (2002), Vic (2005), Pornstar Pets (2005), and La Lucha: The Struggle (2005).
He directed his first film Feast (2005) and two of the film’s sequels Feast II: Sloppy Seconds (2008) and Feast III: The Happy Finish (2009). Also, he directed Zombie Night (2013) and Children Of The Corn: Runway (2018).

Clu Gulager’s wife died on 6th January 2003 at 73 after battling a brain tumor for so many years. It was reported that the tumor was first discovered after doctors carried out an MRI scan. In addition to the damage the tumor did to her brain, it affected one of her eyes.
She was Gulager’s wife till her last days. Therefore the marriage lasted for 5 decades.
19 years after her death, Clu Gulager passed at the age of 93 in Los Angeles on 5th August 2022. His death was attributed to natural causes.
