Mikuru Asakura is a Japanese mixed martial artist signed to the Rizin Fighting Federation. He started his career at the Fighting Network Ring, an Outsider brand, then DEEP promotion, before he moved to the Rizin Fighting Federation.
The MMA Fighter who doubles as a YouTuber also has a Purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He will be fighting 47-year-old retired professional boxer and promoter, Mayweather in an Exhibition on September 25, 2022, at Saitama Super Arena.
Early Life and Bio of Mikuru Asakura
Mikuru Asakura was born on July 15, 1992, in, Toyohashi, Japan. He attended the Aichi Prefectural Toyohashi Technical High School. He began training in karate while he was in elementary school, and also experimented with volleyball for about 3 years.
As a child, Mikuru and his brother, Kai Asakura, got involved in a lot of fights, which contributed to his toughness as an MMA fighter. His therapist recommended enrolling them in boxing classes. However, Mikuru took interest in martial arts, after he went to Zen Do Kai, Toyohashi, a martial arts training center, while he was in high school.
The MMA Fighter and his brother, Kai, fought their first amateur fights under the Fighting Network Ring, an Outsider brand. The brand was aimed at helping and rehabilitating troubled and delinquent youths. He won his first amateur bout against Kohei Shimada and later got a 6-1 record with only one loss to Takehiro Higuchi.
He is the older brother of Kai Asakura, who is famous for competing as a bantamweight in the Rizin Fighting Federation. Kai was awarded fighter of the month in August 2019, by eFight.jp.
Mikuru is also a popular YouTuber in Japan with over 2 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, where he posts training videos with daily vlogs and pranks.

The MMA fighter began his professional career in 2012 when he got signed to DEEP promotion. His first professional bout was against Morikazu Itagaki, a fellow debutante. Mikuru won the fight with a TKO in about 53 seconds.
He went on to fight for the Outsider Promotion, where he fought with Keinosuke Yoshinaga, who defeated him in the first round to claim the Outsider 154 lbs Championship. Before leaving the promotion Takehiro Higuchi, Hiroyuki Furuta, Kil Woo Lee, and Kosuke Terashima.
Mikuru Asakura made his Rizin debut on August 12, 2018, in the Rizin 12. There he faced Hatsu Hioki, former Shooto Featherweight Champion, and Japanese MMA legend. Asakura won the fight after knocking his opponent with a head kick and following up with strong punches. Mikuru fought in Rizin 13,15,17, 20, 21 25, 26, 28, and 33.
In his 12-year-old career, Mikuru has fought in 20 bouts, won 16, and lost 3. He won the RINGS 65kg Championship and RINGS 70kg Championship titles.

Mikuru Asakura announced on June 13, 2022, that he would be competing in a boxing exhibition bout against retired American boxer, Floyd Mayweather.
Mayweather is a 47-year-old retired professional boxer and promoter, who began his career in 1996 and retired in 2017, after 21 years. He is famous for retiring with an undefeated record, winning 15 major world championships from super featherweight to light middleweight.
The bout is expected to take place at Saitama Super Arena, on September 25, 2022, and hosted by Rizin. Mayweather revealed he will be making somewhere between $15-20 million from this 9-minute exhibition.
Unfortunately, Asakura will not earn as much as Mayweather. This is because he does not have as much recognition as the undefeated boxer. However, he is expected to earn well from this bout but the exact figure has not been revealed.
