Mario and Courtney Have Been Married for 11 years
Lopez and Courtney met in the fall of 2008 when Lopez was doing the Broadway production of A Chorus Line. After dating for approximately four years, the pair got married on December 1, 2012, in Punta Mita, Mexico. Their union is currently blessed with 3 kids, Gia Francesca Lopez who was born on September 11, 2010, Dominic Luciano Lopez, born on September 9, 2013, and finally, 5-year-old Santino Rafael Lopez who was born in July 2019.
Interestingly, Lopez and Courtney’s daughter, Gia served as the flower girl during their wedding and the ceremony was featured on a TLC program called “Mario and Courtney’s Wedding Fiesta.” After their wedding, Mario expressed a desire to expand their family.
The Other Women Mario Lopez was Involved with
To begin with, Courtney Laine Mazza is neither Mario Lopez’s first nor his only wife. On April 24, 2004, at the Las Alamandas resort outside of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the performer married actress Ali Landry in a Catholic ceremony. Two weeks later, though, their marriage was dissolved. When asked about their breakup in a 2011 interview, Lopez said that it happened after Landry found out he messed up with another woman during his bachelor party.
Moving on, Lopez has said that American singer, rapper, and actress, Fergie was his first kiss, and they were involved briefly while they were both on the show Kids Incorporated. As is the case with the majority of childhood romances, this one too did not last.
Fast forward to 1993, Lopez was accused by a certain woman of date rape even though there was no evidence to back this claim. After her allegation became public, another woman said Lopez had raped her in 1991. In the latter accusation, there were witnesses who contradicted the woman’s account of her encounter with the actor. More so, the woman making the rape allegation against the actor was not injured and she is said to have gone to his house voluntarily.
Moving on, it is known that Lopez dated Karina Smirnoff, a professional dancer who was his partner on Dancing with the Stars, from June 2006 to June 2008. The reason for their split was not stated but it may be connected to meeting Courtney whom he married about 4 years later.
