The 98-year-old American actress Marilyn Erskine has been married twice. She got married to her first husband, American actor Stanley Kramer, in 1945, but unfortunately, the marriage crashed the same year it took off. She later moved on with Charles Curland, who was an insurance executive. The pair had two kids, and their marriage lasted over 5 decades, ending in 2012 after Curland died.

Stanley Kramer
Stanley Kramer, an American film director and producer, was the first husband of Marilyn Erskine. He married Marilyn in May 1945, but the marriage was annulled two months later.
He later moved on with Anne Peace Kramer in 1950, and the couple remained married for 13 years before deciding to go their separate ways in 1963.
After Stanley divorced Anne, he married American film and television actress Karen Sharpe in 1966. They remained together until Stanley’s death on February 19, 2001. He died at the age of 87 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, after contracting pneumonia. Left behind to mourn him were his third wife, Karen Sharpe, and four children. His kids are Casey and Larry, whom he birthed with Anne Pearce, and Katharine and Jennifer, his children with Karen Sharpe.
Meanwhile, Stanley was born to Jewish parents in New York City on September 29, 1913. He attended DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx and later enrolled in New York University, where he wrote a weekly column for the Medley newspaper. He graduated at the age of 19 with a degree in business administration. Following his college writing experience, Kramer was offered a paid internship in the writing department of 20th Century Fox and moved to Hollywood.
His years as an apprentice writer and editor in Hollywood helped him to acquire an exceptional understanding of the structure of the movies he worked on. This helped him significantly develop his filmmaking career.
In 1943, during World War II, he was drafted into the Army and assisted in making films with the Signal Corps. However, he left the army and created an independent production company called Screen Plays Inc. Kramer’s studio began to produce independent films that mainly dealt with controversial subjects other studios avoided.
So This Is New York (1948) became the first movie Kramer’s production company made. Champion followed in 1949 and became an immense box-office success, though it was filmed with a relatively small budget. It also won an Academy for Best Editing, alongside nominations in other categories.
The American entertainer moved on to produce several movies, and Critics have labeled his movies as “message movies.”
He retired in Bellevue, Washington, in the 1980s. Following his retirement, Stanley wrote a column for The Seattle Times between 1980 and 1996. He also hosted his movie show on KCPQ during this time.

Charles Curland
Charles Curland was born in Los Angeles on March 4, 1925, to his parents, Louis and Dorothy Curland. He is a University of Southern California graduate and entered the insurance brokerage business in 1948. He formed and served as senior partner of the Los Angeles firm Curland, Moss & Meltzer alongside his partners.
He pioneered the development of Risk identification techniques and participated in developing the first multi-peril property package in Los Angeles within his 15-year-long service with the firm.
Charles later co-founded a California life insurance company and was a managing officer for seven years. He also worked with Johnson and Higgins starting from July 1970. While with the firm, he was actively involved in business development, account management, quality control, etc. He retired from Johnson & Higgins in 1992 as senior vice president.
Charles then joined Kagan Life & Health Insurance Services, Inc. and was chairman for nine years.
In 2001, he launched an Independent office enabling him to pursue special projects within the Insurance Industry.
He participated in numerous community projects and was notably the chairman and board member of The National Conference of Christians & Jews.
Charles married married Marilyn Erskine in 1955. The pair resided in Brentwood, California, and had 2 kids before he passed in 2012. Left to mourn him were his wife, Marilyn Curland, his son, Richard Curland, and daughter, Lisa Curland. He also left behind a sister named Suzanne Rosenthal.

Some sources have alleged that Marilyn Erskine got married to one Dr. Samuel Eugene Neikrug between August 1, 1946, and December 18, 1951. However, this hasn’t been confirmed. Much of what is available about Marilyn’s previous relations is between Charles Curland and Stanley Kramer.
