He is generally believed to have been married to only Rocío Herrán. Yet, at his death, he was married to Viviana. Reportedly, the singer’s love life with Viviana started years before he became the icon he was. He first met her in his hometown, Mendoza, and soon after, they started dating.
At the time, Viviana was 19 years old while he was 21 but it did not stop their love affair. Moreso, Viviana’s aunt, Lila helped him find a job tutoring her friend’s daughter.
Over time, his newly formed band started getting gigs. In 1984, Los Enanitos Verdes performed at the Festival de la Falda which led to more popularity for the band and the move to Buenos Aires.
Sadly for Marciano and Viviana’s budding relationship, it put a distance between them, and soon enough, they lost touch.

Despite keeping the details about his private life quiet, at his death, it became obvious that the Argentine music sensation had a child named Javier Cantero.
Javier, born in 1992, revealed that he had a close relationship with his father. It was that relationship that led to his father writing one of his known songs, Amigos. Aside from this, it is unclear whether Javier was the only child of his famous father.

The Truth About His Death
His death on September 8, 2022, at the age of 62 was caused by a Kidney condition. Per his hospitalization in August 2022 due to abdominal pains at the Cuyo clinic, one of his kidneys and a part of his spleen were removed.
In the ensuing days, the instrumentalist and leader of the Los Enanitos Verdes did not get better. Marciano Cantero’s death was confirmed on the official Instagram account of the band when it shared a black ribbon and later uploaded Cantero’s picture.
While his death is quite shocking to many fans, his son, Javier revealed that he was happy for the years they had spent. He also revealed that the iconic singer who died in his place of birth, Mendoza died surrounded by his family and friends.
