Liam Payne, the world-famous English singer and songwriter, died almost three months ago on October 16, 2024, and now the cause of his death has been confirmed and the details released.
Payne’s cause of death was confirmed at a UK inquest nearly three months after the One Direction star fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina and tragically passed away.
The talented singer was lodging at the popular Casa Sur hotel in Argentina when he tragically fell to his death on October 16, following a drink and drug binge. Ever since then, family members and millions of fans have mourned the former One Direction star around the world.
Liam Payne’s medical cause of death has now been confirmed as “polytrauma,” a term that refers to multiple traumatic injuries sustained throughout the body. A hearing held on December 17 at Buckinghamshire Coroner’s Court also revealed that it may take “some time” to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the 31-year-old’s death.
No fewer than five persons have been arrested and charged over the popular singer’s death in Argentina following his fall from a third-floor balcony of the Casa Sur Hotel. According to a statement previously released by Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office, the hotel’s manager, a receptionist, and a friend of Liam Payne have been charged with manslaughter.
The identities of those being charged are the hotel manager Gilda Martin, the receptionist Esteban Grassi and Liam Payne’s friend Roger Nores. Apart from that, two other people have been charged over the supply of drugs.
Nores has been accused of manslaughter for allegedly “abandoning him to his fate, knowing he was incapable of taking care of himself and that he [Liam] suffered from multiple addictions,” according to court documents.
Also, two others, Ezequiel Pereyra, a hotel employee and Braian Paiz, a waiter have been charged with supplying cocaine.
Liam Payne was a member of the popular boyband One Direction, alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan.
The band was formed on Simon Cowell’s The X Factor before rising to international fame. They disbanded in 2016 following Zayn Malik’s decision to leave the group.
